Wearing a pale red, knee-length pencil skirt with black businessy pumps and black pantyhose. I was told this made me look like a harlot and a bro complained. IIRC, Jezebel was mentioned to me in the back room. @ this point I was aware the elders were not inspired of a true god.

What's the craziest thing someone INFORMED on you about?
by Londo111 inthe culture of jws as encouraged by the watchtower is one of informing on one another, reporting to either the elders or ones designated head.
whats the wackiest thing that someone reported on you?
im not talking about a black-and-white watchtower rule that would land you in a judicial committee, but some judgmental nonsense that someone thought they should turn you in about?.

RE: Appropriate attire for graduation ceremony
by Lied2NoMore inwill the branch send out a letter to address appropriate attire for the worldwide graduation from .
"the school that no one ever graduates from"?.
i have been thinking of the endless ways this new direction for the tms termination screams for criticism.. i am sure a quick publication search will reveal several references gushing at how great of an invention the tms was, how it has benefitted jw's, you know, gush, gush, greatest thing since sliced bread, blah, blah, blah.... i'm not interesting in looking at the moment, but wasn't knorr credited with its invention and rollout?.

I think I missed a memo. Is this true--they are getting rid of the school? -

since our separation the man has made it a mission to do EVERYTHING i wanted to do with him while married.
Maybe he learned from his mistake. It is a big blow to lose a significant other, and often we try to fix our mistakes so our next relationship is successful.

Need Help with Blood Transfusion Illustration

wts used to prohibit use of hemophilia factor . Then they later allowed a single dose in a lifetime and stated anything more than 1 dose would be considered "feeding on blood".
Feeding.
Seems like they are trying to redefine the medical use of blood as food because the bible actually prohibits eating blood.
So...can't prove the bible prohibits non-food use of blood? Simply redefine medical use as food. Now it's all against the rules again, nice and tidy.

Today I learned - I'm incapable of having a relationship
by Garrett inhello my dear friends,.
while this post may not be entirely witness related, i figured i'd write out my thoughts here as a form of release and reflection.. recently, a lot has changed in my life.
i'm away from home for the first time in a long while training to get certified in a field i'm not even sure i want to work in anymore.

I lost interest in all men I dated post-Borg and withdrew in the same way. If you can figure out why and work at the root of it, then find someone and just fake it 'til you make it, you can get past it. -

Everybody loves Raymond
by Saintbertholdt ina while ago the user vinman started a forum thread called: "ray franz was an idiot".
the reaction to it was quite negative but i have to admit that the title of that thread was intriguing to me.
by nature i am an iconoclast.

That was painful to read, because of my admiration of Ray. However, as a skeptic, I appreciate your skepticism.
It is possible that Ray did think he may write a book and may have been betraying the wts in his final days with them. But at the end of the day, that is not a problem for me. Look at how many people do the same here while trying to escape. Ray and his wife lived at Bethel and he was on the gb--it's not as though he would or could just move out the milisecond he got a doubt. Cognitive dissonance creates these situations of half in, half out.
Obviously if he brought wts property (documents) with him when he left, that indicates betrayal. (I left one high level job at a company because there was illegal conduct going on the company wouldn't address. You bet your sweet you-know-what I brought proof with me when I left, after being sure I wasn't stealing anything or violating any policies. CYA, baby.) So...I can't see why he wouldn't do the same. And thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster he did. He saved a lot of lives. -

How many teens stay because they have their eye on someone they hope to marry?
by purrpurr ini was just watching a documentary film about the amish.
this one girl who left said she didn't leave until her early twenties because as a teen until then she had her eye on one of the boys in the church.
she had a crush on him and hoped to marry him.

She had a crush on him and hoped to marry him.
As an aside, that is exactly the childlike nature of many jw unions I'm aware of. A "crush" seems to be more of an inexperienced, hormonal attraction. It's not a mature, deep love, and yet they make lifelong commitments based on it. Sad.

All addicts and alcoholics, by the way, don't 100% abstain from mind-altering addictive substances.
They don't all abstain from every food containing vanilla extract.
They use drugs when needed for surgery, childbirth, cancer pain, etc.
They take prescribed psychoactive substances when needed to treat mental illness.
These are not considered relapses.

There are many doctrinal arguments about the bible not prohibiting blood.
Personally, I see a little merit in them, but the real issue is that there is nothing morally wrong with a lifesaving medical procedure that only helps people and harms nobody.
The bible is not a source of good morals, and as long as people try to point to it as a source of right and wrong, you have a severely limited ability to reason with them.

My jw parent got baptized in 1974 and told me (a young child) if I went to the hall with her I would be in paradise with a pet lion in Autumn 1975, so I wouldn't miss out on Christmas at all, because Christmas wouldn't exist.
