I remember telling people about Noah and the inability of a TV to evolve from nothing. I am really embarrassed when I remember saying those things, even though it was totally not my fault I believed those things. I was prevented from participating in science courses as a teen. I was exposed only to the cult's version of things. I accept no blame for being duped.

Your feelings for the former travelling overseers
by Hecce induring our wt life we met a good number of friends involved in the circuit and district work.
i am sure that we share the same experience and that we remember fondly some that we caring, loving and generally interested in the brothers.
at the same time we might remember others that were arrogant, selfish, abusive and oppressive.

I never knew any of them well enough to judge. They were figureheads who dropped in every once in a while and moved on.
With pity, I remember how the bros and sis would flutter around them as though they were celebrities. They would go way overboard to impress them--rehearsing their d2d presentations, making the perfect recipes for their lunches, using their best china, etc. They got so excited about it.
The bros and sis would hang on every word they said. For weeks afterwards, there would be retellings of what the CO or his wife said at the door or during dinner--every tiniest exchange would be analyzed and repeated.
Everyone would talk about their special recipes and whether the couple ate much of it. This info would be noted for next time, so their favorite meals could be provided.
I remember one CO said we can count our time while driving to the KH for the service meeting, and while taking multiple breaks in FS, "because Jehovah is kinder than human employers who don't give paid breaks". And then our tallies improved for years, because we were counting more time for FS even though we were sitting at Dunkin Donuts for our 2nd break of the morning (followed by lunch and a few afternoon breaks).
Wait a minute, if FS is so joyful and important...why do we need so many breaks...
Of course, official doctrine is they have no human leaders and do not follow personalities. Not true IRL.

Jehovah's Witnesses ARE Christians, why do so many ex JW's deny this?
by nicolaou injehovah's witnesses accept jesus as christ, the son of god.
they try, in their own way, to live by his teachings and imitate him.
they pray, read the bible and meet together regularly for worship.. i won't minimise any of the harm and damage they cause but for the life of me, i can't see how anyone can credibly deny that they are christians.. why do so many former jws have a problem with this?

Why do so many former JWs have a problem with this?
I have no problem with it whatsoever. They are following Jesus.
From a practical standpoint, who cares if anyone calls themselves xian or not? They follow the teachings of the Jesus figure. There are thousands of different belief systems that do the same, in their own ways.

utah jehovah’s witnesses church forced woman to listen to audio of her rape, lawsuit says.
a woman is suing a jehovah's witnesses church in weber county after, she says, one of its instructors repeatedly raped her when she was a minor and the organization's leadership forced her to listen to an audio recording of one of the assaults.. the woman filed the lawsuit wednesday in 2nd district court, accusing the kingdom hall of jehovah's witnesses church in roy — as well as naming the alleged perpetrator, several church leaders and the watchtower bible and tract society (the religion's headquarters located in new york) — of knowingly allowing the "unfit" instructor to rise to a position of authority without warning members of his "dangerous propensities" and past sexual transgressions.. read more: http://www.sltrib.com/news/4465861-155/woman-sues-utah-jehovahs-witnesses-church.

Too bad she is only suing for $300,000. That is not enough of a punishment and surely is not enough compensation.
Maybe the statute of limitations has passed, but wouldn't the elders' actions be criminal too? They forced a child to listen to violent sexual material. Wouldn't that be the same as forcing a child to view porn?
ETA: Nope. But it has to be against some law, no? Endangering the welfare of a minor?

Here is a translated version of a news article posted 4 hours ago, more recent than the others, and with different content.
Eloise Dupuis, 27, decided to give birth to her first child in a birth center. However, due to complications, she was transferred to the Hotel-Dieu de Lévis where we had to make an emergency Caesarean section.
..Ms. Zélezen was not with her friend for all medical interventions, but she was present at his bedside when he died.
"Is she could change her mind? Yes, she believes. Is she just said to his family and does not know? [...] I do not know if she accepted a transfusion and eyes were closed, or if it has a total refusal of blood transfusion. "
The friend of Eloise Dupuis said in an interview with VAT News she wants the family and relatives of the young woman for what happened. "There is an army behind it. We're going to change things, "she said.
A coroner investigating the causes and circumstances of the death of the woman. Its work should be finished in a few weeks.

Phizzy, The article I posted earlier states there is a criminal investigation of the JWs because of this. The friends of the deceased lady are speaking out in the media. It sounds like something is being done, and something very effective indeed.
I do not recall ever hearing JWs being criminally investigated for interfering with medical consent, and I'm going to bet the times friends and family instigated that are few and far between.
This situation is unique and groundbreaking.

Question: Why would the act have been recorded?
So he can relive it later on for his enjoyment, probably.
My first reaction is, even though I have zero proof this actually happened, the entire story is plausible.

The article here indicates some of her friends doubt she refused blood. We'll see what the investigation reveals.
"I would like to to know if Éloïse consented to not having a blood transfusion, if she had the chance to express herself, if she had the opportunity to make an informed decision," Manon Boyer, Dupuis's aunt, told Radio-Canada.
A group of friends of Dupuis told Radio-Canada they plan to file a complaint with the Lévis police for criminal negligence.
"We don't know if she refused the blood transfusion," Cassandra Zelezen, a childhood friend of Dupuis, said.
She said they want to know if family prevented medical staff from providing a blood transfusion without the consent of Dupuis.

Do they know what 7.5 billion dead bodies look like?
by jambon1 inin their sick and twisted bubble that they live in, the jehovahs witnesses clearly have no idea about the logistical nightmare of disposing of 7.5 billion corpses.. when i heard an elder once say that it will be a joy to clear away the wicked from the earth, he actually had a smile on his face.. can they even begin to imagine what 7.5 billion dead men, women, children & babies looks like?.
"let the eye feel no sorrow".
sick bastards..

Welcome tor1500.
JW's are too germ-a-phobic to clean up the wicked.
I have information for you from the Society. Share this with them and all should be good, you know, because the Society has always had the Truth.
It has never been proven that a single disease is due to germs. – G24 1/16 p. 250
Do you know the germ theory has never been proven? And it cannot be proven, either. If it had been proven, it would not be a theory. It has been truly said that ‘knowledge without evidence is superstition’; and that applies to the germ theory also. It is a leftover superstition of a past age, when men feared that the earth was inhabited with hideous monsters that were hiding everywhere, in the air, in the sea, in the darkness, etc., always ready to jump out and devour him or make life otherwise miserable for him…now that we have come into this enlightened age, we have discarded the hideous monster superstition for want of positive proof, but we are still just as foolish as our forefathers of old. We have turned from a gigantic monster theory, to the germs, which are so small that we cannot hear, see, feel, smell or taste them. Yet they are just as ferocious as the monsters of old, ‘lurking everywhere, ready to attack man and send him to an early grave. According to the inventors of this preposterous idea, the germ’s only aim in life is to make life miserable for man. But fortunately for all of us, it is only an idea. G31 3/18 p. 404
