I remember thinking that same when reviewing that book! I think their logic, as always, is full of rationalization, especially
When JWs do it=ok
When others do it=not ok

2 my brothers, you are not holding the faith of our lord jesus christ, our glory, with acts of favoritism, are you?
2 for, if a man with gold rings on his fingers and in splendid clothing enters into a gathering of you, but a poor [man] in filthy clothing also enters, 3 yet you look with favor upon the one wearing the splendid clothing and say: "you take this seat here in a fine place," and you say to the poor one: "you keep standing," or: "take that seat there under my footstool," 4 you have class distinctions among yourselves and you have become judges rendering wicked decisions, is that not so?

thats what i heard, is it true that there is no more theocratic ministry school review?
.
People keep mentioning the written questionnaire. I'm racking my brain and can't recall any written questionnaire. Did you have to turn in your answers or something? I'd love to hear about it. Sounds crazy. Maybe I've been gone too long (18+ years ) to have experienced the written questionnaire.
it wasnt coc.
it was reasoning with the scriptures.
does anyone else have the same experiance?
For me it was the red Revelation book. It was so creepy. I already knew it wasn't "The Truth", but that book made me realize they were totally out of their minds.
i found a couple of nice wt and awake magazines in the waiting room at work today.
i decided to dress them up with some flourescent green labels with the freeminds.org, silentlambs.org, and quotes' website.
hope the jw who left them will come back and check them out .
Another thought: Try writing a letter to the doctor/practice manager about the JWs and letting them know that someone is putting the magazines in their office. The mags are probably left there w/o the health care provider's permission. If it were me getting a letter telling me child molester conspirator organizations were leaving mags in my waiting room, I'd check every day and throw them away.

friday, april 8, 2005 page s1vancouver -- at 14, she has already endured a cancer diagnosis, surgery, two rounds of chemotherapy, and a blood clot on her heart.
Keep us posted on the outcome. I hope we don't see her face on another Asleep magazine cover bragging about kids who died for refusing transfusions.
some of you may remember me, seeker4, from several hundred posts 3 to 6 years ago.
i recognize some of the names in today's forums, and maybe some of you remember me.
don't confuse me with seeker - i'm s4.
They disagreed, saying that because I was so prominent in the Organization for so long, and had influenced so many people, that they had to take action, even though I'd been out for going on a decade.
Just a little sidebar on this issue. The elders in this situation are apparently trying to claim that they must DF--despite the long lack of association and lack of any public identity as a JW--to "keep reproach away from the cong" no doubt. They fear the prominence the OP once held in the cong requires a public removal of him from it.
This is just so ridiculous. They never tell the media someone is DFd, do they? So what's the reproach that is exactly being spared here?
If the OP gets DFd to keep the public's view of dubs "clean", then it should follow that they would announce this to the media in order to accomplish the stated purpose. (Likewise, they should DF Michael Jackson and announce that to the media.)
Obviously, the real purpose for DFing in cases like this is not to save the cong from reproach at all.
whilst i was sitting upon my porcelin thinking chair today i had a flash(originally translated as "splash") of new light.
why not get some wbts toilet paper printed.
i checked around and getting it done is no problem.. you can have up to 16" x 3.5" repeated area.
That is an awesome idea and I'd buy some! You could create a website and Paypal has free shopping cart software that you could add...if you didn't want to go with ebay. Be prepared for a copyright/trademark violation if you do this using their actual logo or any of their actual text...you can get into big trouble for doing that. Alternatively, consider creating a similar logo and your own quotes--covered by free speech. Idea for saying:
"The world will end in 1914 1925 1975 2000 2034" (Add all the other dates too.)

I wonder if it might be worth a shot to complain to the UN Human Rights Commission. Has anyone tried that before?
No one shall be subjected to arbitrary interference with his privacy, family, home or correspondence, nor to attacks upon his honour and reputation. Everyone has the right to the protection of the law against such interference or attacks.
How to file a complaint: http://www.unhchr.ch/html/hchr/contact.htm
I haven?t read over all the documents on their site and don?t really know much about it. Was just wondering if it might be worthwhile to pursue this option, if not to impose legal penalties, perhaps to bring attention and pressure to the outlandish shunning policy.
I imagine if anyone wanted to pursue such a complaint, it may be helpful to hire someone experienced (attorney?) to assist in drafting a thorough and credible complaint.
hey!
is anyone participating in the silent lambs campaign where they're sticking the flyers in the doors of kingdom halls?
i'm seriously thinking about it, but i'm going for the gusto!
Another possible idea for you, OP--how about including some documents showing JW failure to support the victims and report it to the police? News articles, or try the court documents of the Canadian Elders who recently removed notes on counseling a molester from the KH. They then put the notes in their attorney's office to try to illegally claim attorney-client privilege. This is available online in court documents, not from an "apostate" site. I think silent lambs has a link on their site, or look in the Child Abuse folder in this forum.
You could attach them somehow to the lamb. Maybe someone would accidentally read it. The Canadian one--just be aware it is long and in legalese--maybe you'd need to highlight a few key points.
today i read "doubtfully your's" comment on wiccans and i was shocked.
i wanted to reply immediately about tolerance and to respect another religion.
then i thought about him having a sister, smoking pot and presenting herself as pagan giving him some bad impression (prejudice?
This is the extent it usually goes with christianity......if you don't accept christ as your savior....you'll burn.
Not to start a debate or anything, but I don?t believe that statement is true.

A few snips from the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church as an example:
? The Jewish faith, unlike other non-Christian religions, is already a response to God's revelation in the Old Covenant?.And when one considers the future, God's People of the Old Covenant and the new People of God tend towards similar goals??
? The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."
?The Church's bond with non-Christian religions is in the first place the common origin and end of the human race??
?The Catholic Church recognizes in other religions that search, among shadows and images, for the God who is unknown yet near since he gives life and breath and all things and wants all men to be saved. Thus, the Church considers all goodness and truth found in these religions??
The text goes on to say that they believe their own religion to be best, but do recognize there are other paths to God.
