  8 october 2016. china's governing communist party is set to launch a nationwide crackdown on the christian church.. by matthew carney - abc.

  the communist party has just enacted much tougher laws that criminalise christians if they do not pledge loyalty to the state.. chinese president xi jinping has warned that all religions now have to become "chinese" and the new laws will attempt to bring churchgoers and their leaders under party control.. the new laws will put the state firmly in charge, giving the communist party the ability to hire and fire church leaders and change religious doctrine to make it more chinese.... that means churchgoers will have to pledge loyalty to the communist party first.. there is good reason to be afraid.

  chinese authorities have already started the crackdown in the christian heartland in the southern province of zhejiang.. it's been extensive and brutal.

  I don't think they would pull a Malawi again, but who knows? It sure did people in other countries feel safe knowing they are in the one true religion that gets persecuted, without having to be persecuted themselves.

  I remember writing Malawi letters as you mentioned in #5, but I don't recall being aware of this happening with Hitler.

  You could make another option:

  Option 8: Write the Chinese government a letter saying how they support its ideals (like they did with Hitler).

  The allegations of dual relationships and use of hypnosis/NLP are what concerns me most out of all those listed in the article. Those are dealbreakers.

  Oh frickety frack, I haven't heard that one in a long time, and 7 of my brain cells just died.

  ONLY in his org can such a thing happen. Because there are no "Hollywood acting coaches" outside the borg. And no TV cameras. And no bad scripts about people in bunkers after the apocalypse--there is definitely not an entire subgenre of sci fi with post-apocalyptic themes. ONLY IN HIS ORG.

  there are lots of interesting topics on here that appeal to me.. i have been a witness for almost 3 decades and am very disillusioned with the organisation at this time.

  i am beginning to see it in a new light as i am getting older.

  Ridiculous ways you kept your "time going" in service?

  i used to go out early mornings with 2 pioneer elders, we would drive 20 miles out of the territory (a big no-no) to look for hikers to preach to lol of course there were never any hikers.

  then off to starbucks for another hour lol easy way to count 2-4 hours.

  i am chuckling as i write this, what a joke!.

  I hated all of the cheating on hours.

  Start your time on the way to the KH by dropping off some yellowed back issues in a laundromat, bonus points if you drive really slowly. Then go to the service meeting or whatever it's called where you put napkins on your head because there's a 3-yr-old boy present, then split up your territory cards and car groups. Count your time while in the KH, drag your feet afterwards, and drive to the territory. So far, you have dumped some moldy issues in a dirty foyer, and you count 2 hours and 5 placements. LOL.

  Then lots of tricks while you're out. Walk & drive really slowly. Purposely do back calls across town so you can count time while driving.

  Each car group member needs to take a bathroom break at a different time while the others wait.

  Jehovah is a kind boss who gives paid breaks, so be sure to take 2 morning breaks, a lunch break and an afternoon break. Linger at each break by talking loudly about how bad the world is getting, and you can stretch the truth to claim you were witnessing to the other coffee shop patrons.
  

  Do back calls while everybody in the car group waits, counting their time.

  Visit an inactive, unbaptized or lonely single person, count your time while having tea and bonbons.

  Two Brothers Living Together - Never Dated Girls...

  Well look, in only 3 pages, this thread has covered most of the gay stereotypes. Quite an accomplishment.

  OP, I think they are gay, asexual, or just late to bloom sexually. None of this is any of our business--not that it matters, since we are not identifying them. It sounds like they are somewhat happy, which is beautiful. I hope they free their minds one day.

  Using the term "Watchtower" when talking to a JW

  has anyone else noticed how alarm bells go off inside a jw mind as soon as they hear someone that "is out" refer to the leaders of this org as "watchtower"?

  i've chatted with a few friends now about my doubts and each and every time i've started using phrases such as "watchtower said this" or "watchtower did that", i can almost see their heads about to explode in anger, as if they've just realized they are talking to the lucifer himself.

  some have even interrupted and corrected me by reminding me that it's not "watchtower", it's "god's organization".

  I always thought this was because the postates were the ones who started criticizing "The Watchtower" during The Great Apostasy in the 1980s.
