  It's so cool that he didn't have to deceive or manipulate anybody to give that talk. He was asked.

  I admire his demeanor. I think, inside, I'd be fighting a strong urge to vomit just for being in that building, touching their bible, saying the word jehoopla correctly.

  He really didn't go that far off the rails. I am kinda surprised they took him out so soon. If I was in the audience, I'd be thinking he was going to get around to a point that was approved messaging. Seemed that way to me. I wasn't getting the "apostate" tingly sensation at all!

  the nephilim account in genesis is utterly ridiculous when you consider that angels are sex-less beings and would therefore lack sex-drive and romantic attraction.

  think of how difficult it is for humans with a sex drive to be sexually attracted to animals.

  now take away that sex drive and it becomes literally impossible.

  Satan saw the angels admiring the beauty of the women. He created some testosterone and inserted it into the angels. He then created penises for them.

  Day One Lowlights

  too much crap to keep track of, but a few low lights of day one of the regional convention stuck out.

  in no particular time sequence here is some of what i managed to hold down.. tight pants yapped on in the opening part about a three part theme to conventions.

  part 1 was in 2016, part 2 is this year, and part 3 is in the works for 2018. i guess the big a isn't coming for a couple more years, at least.. then it was really stressed that all good dubs must always be prepared to "witness" by carrying jay double you, dot org calling cards, and of course wear your id card for the convention at all times, and all places.. next was the strong statement that the purpose of the carts/trolleys is not to place literature, it is to direct people of the public to "our" web site!

  Question...as fond as they are of tracking preaching activities, I wonder...how do they track trolley success if not by literatrash placements? Do they track increases in website hits by geography and trolley activity? And then counsel bros who don't increase hits?

  Feeling Alone. Need Emotional Support.

  please chime in if you're one of my kindred spirit that happens to literally be trapped in due to strong family/friends ties, or plain fear of being abandoned in old age.. although leaving the org is my ultimate wish and desire, fear of the unknown, fear of how it would change my family dinamics, plain fear alone paralyzes me.

  how do you cope in this difficult situation?

  These can be replaced with new ones.

  plain fear of being abandoned in old age

  How would this be different if you left dubs? There are many threads on this forum of old, faithful jws being abandoned in nursing homes. Or imagine them making your medical or financial decisions for you when you're no longer able to make them for yourself. That, to me, is terrifying.

  Talk to my Dad about beards.

  so i spoke to my elder dad the other day, and he asked if i still am sporting a beard.

  i said yes, then i said, "i thought the society said its ok to have a neat trimmed beard now?

  " he said "no, no, no..if you read the article , it says in countries where it is accepted" so my response was "ummm, its pretty accepted here in america"..which he says "it reflects your spirituality" "if another wittness saw you, they would know you are weak"...i was like, "ok, i don't get it, and i follow christ/god, not men..." then he said in his hall" if a brother came in with a beard , he would not have privelages" then i just gave up, and tried to change the subject..ugggggggggg if these people would just listen to themselves , they would see the sillyness of there teachings...

  If a person is transgender and gets saved what will they go to heaven as?

  i know this is a stupid question because the answer is obvious, but if a person was born a male and gets transgender surgery to turn into female will that person go to heaven as a male or female if they died saved?

  i think they will go to heaven with the gender they were born with.

  when i finally figured out this was not the truth it was nice to know i wasn't the only one - it was a surprise to learn how many there are.

  february was my last month of service after 43 active years.

  You can see why the borganization emphasizes love bombing and focus on 'discouraged ones'--the lack of social support expedites the exit.

  They criticize those who leave because of alleged 'personality conflicts', which are really examples of jws being cold and unloving. Think about it though.

  The reason many of these people joined in the first place is not because they think, "Ooooh! I've been dying to join a laughed-at cult so I can't celebrate holidays or receive blood transfusions!" No, they joined in spite of those rules because the love bombing was so effective. Take away the love and you are left with the doctrines.

  this year’s “don’t give up” convention encourages theocratic welfare.

  brother pioneer is doing a lot of carting and having trouble making ends meet.

  his landlord doesn’t get it and decides to evict him and his wife.. .

  someone in your congregation who is putting Jehovah first but suffering financial difficulties under Satan's system

  Imagine your neighbor comes to you and complains about his kid. The kid doubled up and graduated early from high school so he wouldn't have to do schoolwork for the final year. Then he decided his permanent life plan is to have a part time job and use his salary on gas, driving around the neighborhood, knocking on complete strangers' doors to sell magazine subscriptions for charities (no commission or pay). He is able-bodied but just chooses this lifestyle.
  

  And then he says it's the devil's fault he is struggling financially.

  i bring up this subject because of all the restrictions children have to endure in the jw cult.

  they are made prisoners of mind and body.

  being forced to do things that are not natural for children to do.

  I was a child during the 70s/80s apostasy scare. Back then they were so hardcore.

  They would tell us demons will enter your brain if you daydream--the only way to prevent that is to constantly think about their publications. This scared me and I tried to comply. I would say silent prayers while walking down the hallway or riding the bus because I was afraid Satan would take that moment of mental idleness as an opportunity to possess me.

  This and many other aspects of their teachings created a mental prison.

  What a sick thing to do to a child or any person.
