rebel8---showing too much sadness over the death of a loved one reveals lack of faith in the resurrection. I know that's what I was taught. This is just one example of the many things they teach us which kills all natural affection in my opinion and experience. Another would be laying claim to some of the homes during field service for after the big A and the undeserving owners are gone. It's like a subliminal deprogramming of all human natural affection and compassion. We must learn to be (or if raised in the org to never develop natural affection) cold hearted to those who do not fall in line and submit all that we are to the most holy org. Hi again all, I am just slipping in once in awhile as I feel brave...

Why is the Governing Body so Thoughtlessly Cruel?
by frankiespeakin ini have wondered why the governing body is callous when it comes to the rules they make that effect millions of their followers.
they enforce their ban on blood transfusions with the threat of disfellowshipment which has caused untold suffering and death for its members.
they make shunning mandatory of any member that doesn?t agree with their interpretation of the bible which destroys families and friendships, and in all this there doesn?t seem to be any let up.

Hi, I realize you don't know me as I have not introduced myself yet, I am still too paranoid and the thought of it brings up great anxiety. But! I will tell you from having had a run-in, head to head with mr almighty jaracz himself presiding in a triune meeting with me (he was our district o), I have to agree with Alan's description. My life, my mind, and any happiness I had ever experienced ended with him staring at me and demanding that I fall in line with whatever he said. sorry to intrude on this thread...

If This Isn't A Cult----What Is It????
by minimus inthe organization teaches that we leave everyone and everything else behind when we join christianity (also known as the "truth").
your father, mother, brother and sister all have to be given up to become a "real" christian.
friends that you grew up that are not of the same religion must be abandoned.

I should have added they were proud to be labeled a "cult" because it meant they were viewed as separate from from "the world" *.... .· ´¨¨)) -:¦:- *¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ ..·´ H-:¦:- -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´

Yes, I feel jws qualify as a Cult. When I was attending meetings (way back) I remember it being acknowledged as a cult from the podium as ?Jehovah?s Cult? like Franklin mentioned. Cults have been around since the beginning of history, such as the ?Cult of Isis? and many other Gods and Goddesses. Sort of a ?club? in my opinion. One chooses a ?way? (club, cult) that is comfortable and makes them happy. A way of daily living, spirituality, with a supportive and gratifying social life. The problem with jws? ?way? is the destructiveness of their social rules, their ?visions of grandeur? for only their group, which incidentally, one of the signs of schizophrenia is a person having ?visions of grandeur?. They offer promises of a happy eternal life on Earth, which will be a huge wonderful garden with animals, people, bugs, et all getting along fabulously with no concerns. And any concerns you just may have should simply be put aside because Jehovah will take care of it in your best interests. Who wouldn?t want such a reward??? The trouble is there are too many holes in their story and ?way?. Too many seriously troubled and unhappy lives for those who have had any contact with them. *.... .? ´¨¨)) -:¦:- *¸.?´ .?´¨¨)) ((¸¸.?´ ..?´ Hopelesslystained-:¦:- -:¦:- ((¸¸.?´

there have been changes.....
by lisavegas420 inhow would you respond to the following quote.....i got this from a pro jw site.
i don't post on the site, just read.......i just wanted to know how you all would respond to this post.never let anyone cause you to doubt the organization...true there have been changes in the past in which the society readily admits to but the bottom line is that this is the channel jehovah has chosen...remember the vision of his chariot...those wheels could change any direction on a dime...it is our responsibility to move with that chariot and keep up otherwise we will be left behind with nothing better to do than finding fault with this precious organization!.
i would like to know more about the chariot wheels too....

back in the 60's and early 70's one of the things i remember most being preached was how consistent the organization is in their teachings and beliefs as compared to "organized religeon", such as the catholics in particular. thus proving them to be the true religeon being directed by the almighty. new light was a new term to me. i left in the late 70's (ha! 1975 had definitely come and gone). so my reaction to your posted statement. is humph! obviously they have changed their story just like any other false organized religeon!

if your room has been thoroughly gone through on a regular basis, looking for...?
if it takes you 5 min more coming home from school and you are interrogated for having extra curricular activities.
if your "jw friends" report everything you do to the elders.
if you are brought before "the committee" for looking left instead of right.
if you have to answer to the most high Mr Jaracz for telling a jw "friend" just maybe marijuana isn't all that bad and being verbally abused by the triune until you give in and say, " oh yes, marijuana is of satan's design" !!!
oh please!!! it was HELL being a jw po's child -

turn around and walk away! do not let his reasonings confuse you. just shut the door. Initially it will be very upsetting and hard, but you will come out on the otherside a normal 16 yr old ready to go on with life in a far better place.
