Smartest meaning intelligent? The first thing I would have to ask is about what subject?
About military subjects, I think myself along with some of the other vets in here would know what is going on.
About JW issues, probably everyone else on this board except me being that I am a never been.
So what is my point? Simply this, I think it all depends on that individuals experiences. College degrees don't neccessarily mean that you are smart, it just means that you are able to learn.
BTW, I am definitely not the brightest lamp in my house.

there are many strong apposing views, as to be expected.. i personally am going to thank all those who are in the military; my hat is off to you, and i respect what you do, and i am very thankful.
you are the ones that must go out there and defend our freedoms.. i don't think most people desire war, but sometimes there seems to be little choice.

Soldiers in the United States Armed Forces do not get to pick and choose their own wars, that decision is left to the US Government. It is our duty to uphold those decisions so people like you can pick and choose what it is that you wish to do in this Nation. The thing that irritates me is people like you that disrespect veterans that make your lifestyle possible.
As for brutally mistreating other humans, I will tell you that if and when I get deployed to a hostile nation where other soldiers/terrorists are trying to take my life, I will not hessitate to shoot first and ask questions later. I charish my life and my country too much for it to be taken by the hands of someone else. Being, as I doubt, that you have never served in the armed forces, I also doubt you will be able to understand this concept.
