Elderettes : would bitch about you mercilessly and nag their downtrodden husbands into action.
Pioneer Pious : would snitch on you then fade into the background.
:d ha ha ha ha .
i'll list all the "ranks" in the witness movement, and tell me what they would do?

i noticed after being a jw for a while that many members of my congregation were having to take antedepressants.
(i counted at least 30 out of 100).
after a few years i too began to have bouts of depression and problems with anxiety.
Maybe starting your own thread would be better - a lot of people may miss what you have to say here, and that would be a pity
what was it that was the real eye opener for you?.
for me, it was after watching the video, "jehovah's witnesses; a non-prophet organization," and the point on how the org puts itself in a place between jesus and mankind.
a position which does not exist scripturally.
Gill - have only recently found out about the 607BCE thing - and have resurrected (is that copywrited?) an old thread I found...am amazed that it hasn't been questioned along the way - but I suppose JW aren't that educated generally (discouraged), if they were they could think for themselves. Is looking at History books considered apostate? Must be if History disagrees with the 607 thing - sad.
i came across this while i was reading the bard (all us brit's do you know) and i thought of the org'.. .
"there's no room for faith, truth, nor honesty in this bosom of thine.
it is all filled up with guts and midriff.
i'm close to the edge
......I don't remember this .lol....
dear brothers and sisters in the worldwide brotherhood of jehovahs witnessestm,.
there has been much public interest in our beliefs lately, so we have prepared a very brief summary of our core beliefs in a new pamphlet which you may offer to interested persons.
hopefully, this pamphlet will generate enough interest with honest-hearted people and enable you to start many new bible studies.
I laughed so much I cried - and now I have a headache - lol - that was EXCELLENT!!!!!!
i just discovered something i have not seen anywhere before.
i was looking at my old "all scripture inspired" book, and i say old because it was the first edition from 1963 and i had used it for years.
according to the wt cd there were revisions in 1983 and 1990. i came across this little goodie under the book of daniel.
I feel so stupid. I always took the ''Society's'' word that 607BCE was an accurate historical date - historical fact. Only since coming on here have I discovered this isn't true at all - but when did this come to light? Out of all the JWs in the World, there must have been some over the years who have a sound knowledge of History. (Or is this another reason why further education is discouraged).
Have just done my OWN search, and all sources point to the year 586 BC, and more accurately, 9th av 586 BC
a lot of posters on this board have expressed the opinion that religion is the reason for many wars.
some have even implied that if religion was "banned" the number of wars would be reduced.
pole .
Toughie. I think a LOT of Wars are over religious beliefs - and the Bible supports this as Wars have been going on since Adam was a lad (to coin a phrase) with God's backing. I assume the same in all religions, that Holy men have condoned and encouraged War as a way of ensuring their belief survives and increases.
Theoretically, the number of wars SHOULD reduce if religion was banned, but the fanatics always survive, and they're the danger.

Gill - that is so sick I had to read it through TWICE to take it in. The JW wouldn't HESITATE to use this as an example of man's inhumanity if someone in the ''WORLD'' had done this.

Are you kidding FlyimgHighNow - I could have carried ON reading - if there's more I, for ONE, would love to hear it
did anyone actually enjoy singing the kingdom melodies at the hall?
some of them were fun to sing, some of them were corny.
my brother use to sing them loud but without any sound coming out of his mouth.
If I'm honest, I can't recall liking ANY Kingdom song - and I always felt that no one enjoyed singing them. I do, however, like some of the hymns sung in Church!
