i remember years ago when i was a "devout" jw there was a co-worker of mine that spent every waking minute trying to convert jw's to born-again christianity.

i was abit afraid of him because i thought he was demon-possessed.

he had all of the old wt publications and spent many hours debating with jw elders.

if he has access to a NWT Bible 1961 edition get him to compare it to the current edition at Hebrews :1-6.

Tough day -- my mom died today

poor thing, she's had alzheimer's for about 10 years and the last year she's been on hospice care because she's been so close to death.

the past few months she's been slowly filling up with water -- they gave her lasix (not sure of the spelling) to relieve the edema and it worked, sort of.

last weekend she actually looked a little better.

Mobile phone ringtones - remember when mobiles first came out? They sounded like phones. NOW they sound like anything BUT phones. And there are constant TV and magazine adverts for ringtones....

..oh and those people in supermarkets who are communicating on their mobile what is on the shelves...you know them, '''I'm by the frozen fish, they haven't got what's on yor list - how about a bit of haddock instead....?''

Last conversation I had with a JW about 1914, was that they prophesied that year CORRECTLY, as that is when, totally unexpectedly, World War I (which signalled the Time of The End) broke out.....can't argue with History.

A little more about me

hello everyone, you have probably read some of my posts but i wish to tell a little more about my story, not all of it but just to give a mindset of where i stand and how i feel.. i had been a witness since childhood as i had been indoctrinated at a very young age by a zealous grandmother who had devoted her life to an organization.

like i had stated before i have come to realize she was serving a image of god created for her consumption by imperfect men, but none the less i know she meant well in her actions.

i have always had a good heart toword others and god, and though at times it troubles me to think of how i used to carry the jw mindset of judging others viewpoints and faith, not intentionally but because of being molded into such a form through misdirected thinking.

I read every word, welcome Ticker. I sometimes think (and perhaps it's just me, it usually is), that those who have to ''fake'' showing Love feel threatened by, and are envious of those who genuinely do show Love. Actions are greater than words...

Does the Governing Body Have Any Real Friends They Can Trust Now?

i would think with all that the governing body is faced with that they must feel some form of isolation even at bethel.

they must worry all the time that soon thier little world will come crashing down especially with the brutal exposer the internet is providing.

i'm also sure that they wonder who will be the next to turn states evidence against them in some legal case they face now or in the furure.. with all the very clear information on the internet exposeing the governing body thate soon some higher up will get deprogramed that have been privy to some very damaging information perhaps from the accounting or the legal department that could send thier asses to jail.

Exactly Badboy - and if Faith is lacking (ie, trusting in Jehovah to keep the Organisation ''clean''), then paranoia will surely take its place.
