In a "moral sense" I hope there is a GOD! I don't particularly like this world that much. I don't think some people should be rich and others shouldn't.
I don't like it how some people starve but others have plenty and there's a fat lot of good I can do about things like that. :( Makes me feel like sewage. :(
I don't like it how there are homeless people in Australia and America! I can't fathom not living in a house! I can't understand how people survive like that!
I wish the Palestinians and the Jewish people would stop fighting (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
There's been so many wars and things like that, it stops the way of progress and intellectual thought.
I would like to live forever and explore space. That's why I love shows like Lost In Space and Doctor Who. Love to explore the universe.
It's interesting in MOST movies. The good guys always win in the end. Is that not true? The knight slays the dragon and gets the princess, James Bond always get the girls and kills the bad guys, Doctor Who always solved the mystery and skids away back in his tardis when his finished... Batman always saved the day or Gotham City or watever (I don't watch it) My point is that, there's a desire in us of a better time or era and there's always a hero (God is the hero in the religious sense) who looks out for us and makes sure all the bad guys/demons will be destroyed, or done away with.
God has built-in qualities in each of us for basic morality and each of us (at least in this life) has a desire to live and achieve, be prosperous have a good peaceful life. :) So that is why I believe there in dominus deus Yehowah.

Why do/don't you believe in God
by LouBelle innow for all the scientists out there this is not a question of proof or anything along those lines.
for my part i choose to believe in a god because i honestly believe there is one (though i did start doubting for a little while) i've always felt that there was more to our existance on earth - and that doesn't stem from me wanting to live forever or as a spirit, as i don't even know if that will happen.
i also believe in him because many many times when i could not carry on, on my own strength, i managed to pulled through.

I believe in God because I don't think it's possible for the whole cosmos with all it's billions of stars and planets and galaxies can just come into existence.
Something All-powerful would have had to start everything! I don't believe a big bang is possible which starts off as tiny organism and they apparently turn into bigger and greater life forms and then people are supposed to have evolved from apes.
Us humans always copy nature. Electricity (eel), flying (bird), inner city walkway (spider web), garbage cleaner (vaguely; snake), mirror (lake reflection), pockets (kangaroo), a house (bird's nest)
Something really powerful and important created all these different kinds of animals.
Why would we only use 2% of our brains! We should be using 100% (or maybe nearabouts because we wouldn't want to have a breakdown!) Why is it that we can't live forever? But scientests are confused why are not able to!
Someone would have provided all that for us.
How can something just exist? Someone really powerful must have made it able to exist and therefore it exits.
The question really should be: How can God just have been there for all eternity? How did God choose to be God and why? Maybe I would have like to have had an opportunity or Maybelle would have like this opportunity as well.
Hi Googlemagoole! Had interesting conversations with you before! :) Nice seeing you on here again! Respect your opinion on this thread just like any other thread. -

End of the World Near?
by love2Bworldly ini am wondering how many people out there still believe that in the next 100 years or so that this world/earth is going to be destroyed?.
my husband is a christian, and sometimes he is obsessed with world events in the middle east and he thinks one day soon all the christians are going to be raptured away to heaven while the antichrist rules here on earth.
i am extremely uncomfortable when he talks about it because it reminds me of the jws.. any thoughts out there?

Well, this might sound too obvious, but I think that if there was a start 6000 years ago, there has to be sometime. The rate at which things are going, don't look the best. The leaders of the world can't agree on everything. Everything is about policy rather than being realistic about the world's problems. They keep inventing new things that put people out of jobs, like those automated check out scanners, instead of having a checkout chick. You use to be able to work in a factory, but now all the Chinese and Indians do it. You use to be able to call someone about your phone bill in _______ (fill the gap)country. Now the calls are in India.
I am not sure about inventions. I am a bit sick of them actually. :( Why can't people help out Africans in Africa? Why do they always make the US look glamorous? There are so many homeless people over there! In Australia as well! Everytime I see a film from the US, I always try to remind myself "This is the top 5% of America." When I watch Opera Winfrey, I say to myself "You wouldn't even get through the front door, if you had shabby, bum clothes on. They only want you to see this fairy tale America!" I hope you know what I mean, but America is a prime example. We never hear about the everyday American that much. There are millions of people that don't have anywhere near as much money as Nicole Kidman or Russell Crows (who is a New Zealander originally).
This terrorism in Israel has been going on for 40 years intensively! Eversince Lost In Space started!!! They can't stop terrorism there! They can't stop it in London either! There will be a terrorist attack in Sydney eventually. It's a matter of when... The new motto in Australia is (for signs of strange bags at train stations etc) "If you see something, say something."
Things will only get worse...
They reckon it's like only about "5 minutes to midnight" on the nuclear clock. I know they switched it back. But some dictator from North Korea can let one of those bastard things off and hit me right here in Sydney!!! Say I am stupid but I shocked at how far those things can go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's pretty far. Actually we are closer to Britain geographically than a lot of those far eastern Asian countries. It's just perception because you see this really big, cold place called Antartica that seems to make it look so far away. So it just emphasizes how far way North Korea is!
No one is safe anymore because of this global village thing! I no more safe than you people in the United States or Great Britain.
I believe in that multi-colored statue that's mentioned in the Bible. We are at the feet of it. I don't want to put a date on it like the Watchtower does, but I just want to keep living and being prepared if it happens! -- Bit like a terrorist attack really! :)
It does talk about future empires in the Bible like Britain and America... And the United Nations is the last big thing... and then bang!
There's my rant. Just how I feel about everything. -

Christians have been expecting the second presence or coming of the Christ since the days of the apostles and todays churches unlike the JWs they wisely do not try to set dates for it.

inquirer -- Wow! Great post! So logical! Why didn't I think of it like that. Keep your eyes peeled when it happens. But don't wait for it to happen! Make the most of things now! :) Yeah... :)

Was Jesus Created?
by 9thWonder inwas jesus created?
this question came out of a discussion i was having with a preacher of a no-denominational church.
he was trying to convince me of the truth of the trinity doctrine.

Ok, no worries. Haven't felt the best lately. Internet, not good for communication (with emotions, even if you use smilies.)
Well, I mean, I thought Jesus was INVOLVED in the creation process (beside him as a master worker)... Like Jehovah was guiding him to make sure everything on planet earth was in the right place "mountain here, river there..." Bit like a theater stage where all the people are putting on the props on, testing the lights, and making sure the people on stage know what role they have to play in the show...
Well I pray through Jesus... We have to make sure our prayers are right. He is our mediator... their both important, they have to decide on what you are praying about. If they both take part in making the earth and all that, they both have a right to "hear what you are praying about."
No worries... can't remember what I wrote. Got to go to bed in a minute... Can't remember what I said. lol (I have such a bad memory.)
Well, I mean, I just say what I believe. Nothing more, nothing less. You can be trinitarian, I can be unitarian. I just present things with the way I think is like what you are doing. I do consider other opinions, I looked at sites like jesusdoesn'texist or whatever. And I had serious doubts about Christ for about 2 days. And then I researched against it so to speak... and then I thought, can't be right. People are killing Christ again! And yes, I did consider all the angles of where they were coming from.
PaulJ, well I am glad someone is agreeing. Hoorah! :) Can't say more. Sorry. Must go. Goodnight. -

LittleToe,
People should be varied with their opinions! Where's all the other religious cultures?
MULTI-RELIGIONISM! LOL
Should be someone saying "yes," or "no," or "I'm not sure," or "I'm too busy to answer/or don't care to answer!"
You can't just have the "yes" people and the "no" people! :) -

LittleToe,
If it's any consolation, there are few Christians on the board, period. Regardless of doctrinal persuasion. You'll get used to fighting your own corner alone, I assure you - I know I did!

But- there are so many arguments saying the bible isnt true- so how can this be used as evidence. In all honesty, unless something is found- book, manuscript etc that beyond all doubt signifies what Jesus was/is- there will always be arguments for an against.

inquirer -- It's sad that it is like that. :( It should be obvious. -

LittleToe,
:( Do you mind? I am answering out of my heart. It's not a JW stock answer. Sheesh, I already apologized for sounding like a JW in a post on this page before... :(
Well because his the son, God (1 in 1, not 3 in 1) would have created him. It's just logic, is my answer. He would have just gone "wheeesh!" And there is Jesus (sorry, lol.) He is created! :) That's all I meant.
