  What is your favorite Bible?

  i have a couple: new american bible, new jerusalem bible, new world translation and the world english bible.

  i know i am going to cop it because i like the new world translation -- i have done a lot of research on it, and don't come to the same conclusion as nearly everyone else and think it's automatically bad just because it's done by the jw's.

  doesn't mean i am pro-catholic because i like their bibles too...

  Who does the Bible readings from the New World Translation tapes?

  i've always wanted to know that.

  my mum was telling me about this conversation she had with a jw that taught her the "truth," and that one of those speakers on the bible tapes was disfellowshipped and thought it might be raymond franz?

  is that true?

  i wish i had a time-machine, to visit my old self and bring myself into the "internet era" (around 1994 -- that was when yahoo came out anyway) and show sites like these and others and warn the "original inquirer" what i would get myself into.

  if only i had a tardis!

  Should I get the New Jerusalem Bible?

  i've already got the other catholic bible new american bible.

  i've always thought it was a rather good translation, but unhappy at the verse order -- in job some verses have been taken out completely and only used in the footnotes!

  this has really got me down, because it's not just in job but they have taken this course in isaiah, habakkuk and many other "minor prophet" books.
