Re: Trinity confusing ?
by A Paduan ini have seen and read various pieces of wt work stating how christendom's "trinity" is a thoroughly confusing vague mathematically impossible unattainable concept of illusion.
it's a very basic concept.
like asking "how can one person have the authority of the governing body if they aren't the governing body all at the same time ?

fjtoth,
In my opinion it seems like "Orthodox Christians" (Particularly Catholics) are not specific of who they pray to! Why can't it be simplified and just say: Pray to Mary... or Pray to Jesus? Er... Seems weird if you pray to Mary and or Jesus. Why not just pray to Mary since she is God's mother? :) She is (sic) superior to the father because she "mothers God..." I don't know just being philosophical about it. I wasn't brought up Catholic, it's hard for me to understand totally.

Well why don't people pray and call "God" Jesus? I've never heard people address him as Jesus, only as Lord or God...
I've never heard people say "Oh Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit" when addressing God either! -

Witnesses for Jesus....Post search!
by Kristofer intrying to find a post with several scriptural references for being witnesses of christ as opposed to the name jehovah.

Oh yeah, I didn't realize about those ones. It all depends on how you search -- boolean, phrase, all words! Thanks for putting those ones forward like that. I guess there is more than one way to look at it. Rev 17:6 makes it look more like a title like an organization name like "Jehovah's Witnesses," which is similar to the one they quote in Isaiah. But it's all trivial really.

I couldn't find one that literally says word-for-word Witnesses for Christ...
either in the singular form. -

Acts 11:26 and, after he found him, he brought him to Antioch. It thus came
about that for a whole year they gathered together with them in the congregation
and taught quite a crowd, and it was first in Antioch that the disciples were by
divine providence called Christians.Acts 26:28 But A·grip´pa said to Paul: “In a short time you would persuade me
to become a Christian.”1 Peter 4:16 16 But if [he suffers] as a Christian, let him not feel shame,
but let him keep on glorifying God in this name.Doesn't say Jesus' Witnesses in these verses, but Christian comes from the
word Christ. I guess when Jehovah judges the righteous and unrighteous we will
have to in a judiciary sense be a witness for Jesus! :DBut here is one where it does say it: Revelation 17:6 And I saw that the
woman was drunk with the blood of the holy ones and with the blood of the
witnesses of Jesus.____

Acts 1:8 but YOU will receive power when the holy spirit arrives upon YOU,
and YOU will be witnesses of me
both in Jerusalem and in all Ju·de´a and Sa·mar´i·a and to the most distant part
of the earth.” 9 And after he had said these things, while they were looking on,
he was lifted up and a cloud caught him up from their vision. 10 And as they
were gazing into the sky while he was on his way, also, look! two men in white
garments stood alongside them, 11 and they said: “Men of Gal´i·lee, why do YOU
stand looking into the sky? This Jesus
who was received up from YOU into the sky will come thus in the same manner as
YOU have beheld him going into the sky.”___
Can't think of one that directly says Jesus' Witnesses. :( I'll keep looking.

I accidentally went to a gay bar once when I had to do dury duty! I didn't know where the place was!
I was wondering why people dressed a bit funny in there! :) But the guy put his arms around my shoulder and showed me the way out! :) He was alright about it. So yeah, I am not gay. But I thought that was quite amusing looking back on it! :D lol -

It's expensive to be a JW
by startingover inwell, april 15 is fast approaching and i can procrastinate no longer.
so in preparing the figures for the tax man, i started looking at where our money is going.
something hit me as i was half way through.

I am sick of non-JW's making people in offices wear office suits. Women don't
realize how uncomfortable men are! Women can wear what they want: Sandals,
skirts, blouses (it's really called a shirt), stockings! They can even wear
pants (or slacks as they call them.)I think the Dan Brown sets a good example of how people should dress up if
they have to! Much better look! :) -

The Lone Ranger,
Yeah, use to know a family that were Jewish. I met up with their father about 5 years ago and he told me he doesn't believe in all that JW stuff anymore. I still believed at that time, but didn't shun him! He was in my brother's (my sibling brother)house anyway. Still would have spoken to him regardless of where this Jewish person was! But anyway, I think I got the impression his family didn't believe in it anymore either.
I am pretty certain that there are Jewish people in Bethel too. There are almost 2 million Jewish people in New York (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Jew) -- so I wouldn't be surprised if there were a couple of them in Bethel.
