It's probably a new idea- one baptism at a time- take a picture and put it in the files at WT headquarters. No way to deny you did it later to avoid a disfellowshipping action.

What outward signs of apostacy are evident in your house?
by AK - Jeff inif the elders came and inspected your home - what would they find?.
a casual look around reveals a box of "narnia" tissues on my desk, 12 or 14 non-witness translations of bibles on my shelves, many non approved novels [wifey's] on the reading table, plenty of 'apostate literature', a book or two on meditation, a hypnosis cd for weight loss, prob many toys that are not witness approved in the g-kids room, a half eaten birthday cake, a birthday balloon, xmas wrapping paper in the closet , a couple of r rated movies, music that is not acceptable.. that is just at first blush.
how is your house?

Lets see; some Menoras, a Mezzuzah on the doorpost, a Kippot - I guess it depends on who's doing the investigation whether to label these items apostate or not.

Moshe

"look how wonderful everything is! surely it was designed by a God who loves us!"
What a bunch of crock.
If G-d loves his creatures , then why did he allow so many to be destroyed in one life extinction event after another. Did G-d get mad at big bad T-rex and bring their armageddon on them with an asteroid crash?- setting the stage for mammals to reign supreme. The fossil record shows a violent record of past destructions. Either it was all due to random chance or we have a G-d who gets upset with his so-called perfect creation and cleanses the earth periodically and creates a new batch of creatures- over and over again. Where is the Intelligent design in this?
What would a thinking person conclude? When the next extinction event occurs in one year or 10,000- and it will- and G-d doesn't step in to avert it, then the discussion about this topic will be settled. -

Evolution - and the Long Overdue Synthesis

We hear much discussion about Intelligent design/creation vs/ evolution. Little is said about many mass extinction events which made present life possible. If T-rex and his family tree had not been wiped out present humnan and mammalian life would not exist. If you believe in Intelligent design/creation, then you must accept that G-d was responsible for the extinction events that caused most of the life on Earth to be destroyed several times over. Or accept that blind chance caused these events and we are the product of random accidents in Nature. It's an ongoing process and the replacements for modern humans will certainly evolve after the next extinction event. That is, unless you believe that G-d will stop an asteroid collision for us, when he didn't do it for T-rex.

IF they were right
by KW13 inimagine you woke up in a paradise earth that was inhabited by jehovahs witnesses.
what would your reaction be?
personally i'd feel sick (if my perfect body would allow that lol) as eternity stuck with them, would be worse than hell.

This whole idea of a "paradise Earth" for JW survivors of Armageddon is the opium of the Kingdom Hall. The publishers have drugged their ignorant Bible study victims on this Paradise Earth dream. Families have sacfificed their whole life and happiness for this WT dream. Fact is, we are already living in a paradise in western countries. Just turn off your airconditioner and park your car-- see what it will be like in the new world that the WT dreams of- it sucks.

Paypal sucks
by peacefulpete ini know its been said many times before but man does paypal suck.
for anyone out there who uses ebay and its paypal payment system, take warning!
i've used it many times before as both seller and buyer and no complaint except for the fees involved.

I have never gotten bitten by Paypal, but I only accept checks for some auction items, if I think the fraud index with paypal by a buyer might be high. My son has already been scammed by some buyers. Lately , I have started using Craigslist for items that have general appeal and only sell them locally- saves the ebay fees, too!. I have a relative who just started an ebay resell store- She doesn't have a clue what kind of problems she has waiting for her. Sellers will misrepresent the item to the ebay store for a higher auction price. Then the unhappy buyer will file a complaint with paypal and the ebay store will suffer a chargeback to their account. Meanwhile the seller who sold the item has their 70% of the sales price and is long gone. Most ebay stores I have seen close up within a year- it's not easy money. Thanks for the tip on the ebay vehicle deposit at close of auction scam. I have seen the $250-$500 deposit at close of auction plenty of times- I never considered the downside. Thanks for the tip.

Why is truth is so hard to find in Bible
by The Dragon ini have been studing it for years looking for answers....yet for every answer i find there is a counter to it.
the words themselves are twisted by leaders/teachers to fit their personal opinions and adgendas, as well as twisted by trying to rely on our own reasoning to understand them.. a good example would be the way our current system of laws work.. if the supreme court writes a law into the book..say for example.."evil" is anyone who does this....... it is then turned over to a bunch of undereducated enforcers to interpert and judge others they feel are "evil".
they are allowed to accuse and shoot first asking questions later.

I have come to the conclusion that man will have to take care of himself and this planet himself for as long as we are able. It is a forgone fact that total extinction events have happened in the past and will occur again in the future. The God of the Bible will not stop an asteroid collision, supervocano, global iceage, supernova killer gamma ray burst, etc- the extermination of the human race will happen just like it did to T-Rex and his kin and no amount of prayer will stop it from happening. I wonder what our future replacement will think about our fossils in a 100 million years. I suspect that men who are alive when the extinction event occurs will finally stop arguing about the Bible.
peace,

What happened between Jesus death & the gospels being written?
by yaddayadda inhi, i'm interested in researching this subject.
can anyone recommend any good books that offer critical theories on the origins of early christianity, specifically the content and creation of the gospels.
for instance, how much of the gospels is underlying historical truth and how much might be exaggerations that crept in through, say 'chinese whispers' in the time between jesus death and the writing of the gospels ?

If a supreme diety could not manage to keep his alleged words preserved intact without error, then maybe they weren't his inspired words to start with.Has anyone ever wondered why the three Bible quotes of the sign nailed over Jesus at his execution were all different- did anyone get it right?

I don't feel sorry for this old DO. I wonder how many disfellowshipings he sat in on over the years? How many talks on shunning he gave ?- how many parents with a sick/injured child he counseled to follow the Society's blood transfusion ban and then gave the talk at the funeral? The man has plenty of bloodguilt to answer for. He was just a paid thug for WT headquarters - his nice smile and pleasant manner makes him even more evil in my book.
