Now on to my question. Why would Elders literally try to keep a couple (both in good standing) from getting married? And why would the PO actually scream at the girl during at commitee meeting? Isn't there some rule that, that is inappropriate behaviour during a comittee meeting?
Others here have given you better answers than I could thanks to their experiences. I'll just add the following
From the PAY ATTENTION book page 112
Elders need to treat the accused kindly and respectfully,
never harshly. (w89 9/15 p. 19) -

Well I see if I find such quotes in the Spanish Watchtowers. If anybody knows of any, please post them. Thanks.
You might look in the Sept-Dec WT as usually it was just a few months later

Well I did not find that article you're talking about? Is the Watchtower in English different in Spanish?
Actually there is a difference up until a certain year. Unfortunatly the year escapes me. I'm sure it was after 1968. The same article used to appear in different issues.

Do you think JWs are the only ones that have hi-jacked the word "evil" though?
Good point. I looked at several translations in regard to the man at 1 Cor chap 5. ----some say wicked ; others say evil.
Elders are told to ask themselves---Is the person wicked or weak.
Not to stray off the subject, but one thing repeated several times in COC is that many organized religions display some of the same undesirable things as WT. The question begs an answer ---What (not who) shall we go away to?????

RE: Adulterous marriage
by TallTexan inhi tepic (dad) :-).
as usual, the gb has created an irreconcilable paradox.
if someone marries someone in the situation you described, then, according to the gb they are committing adultery, and thus in an adulterous marriage.

this is what happens when the GB starts 'adding to the things written'. So many more questions are raised, and then there has to be 'rules' and 'laws' put in place for those circumstances,
Well said TT (son)
This is just what Ray said in COC. Each decision requires more decisions.

MarkAnthony Re: Becoming a witness...
by kes152 ingreetings to you, mark, may you have peace.. before you decide to become a witness, dear brother, may i share this with you perhaps for your consideration.. you seem to have a 'desire' for truth which has led you to consider becoming one of jehovah's witnesses.
if this is true, i would like to share the follwonig with you and if you have a bible... you may look them up and 'listen' to what the spirit says to you as you read them:.
" (john 14:6).

Break the continuity and you've discontinued the person. Making a copy after discontinuation does not bring the person back. It only creates a copy.
AlanF
With all due respect I ask: Was the resurrected Lazarus just a copy of Laz? Or Jesus himself--only a copy of Jesus?
