  January has not been a good start this year....

  if to put my dog (leska) to sleep at the 4th was'nt enough, now my 2 other dogs are going to give me trouble.

  i agree, it was my fault too: i should have closed my door with a key, but who would expect those monsters to escape ?

  they were in my living (with the door closed) while i was moving boxes with old paper into my car to get rid of.

  Man, CG! I do not envy you this kind of begining for a new year!

  That being said, I'd build some kind of real secure place for them because if they get out again, the county may take them away or fine you heavily (depending on what the laws are like where you live). I used to have big beautiful European Doberman Pinschers, they were wonderful family dogs and the kids and I loved them very much. Our champion got out one day, and was in the front yard. A teenager was walking home from school and he barked at her and scared her. I saw the whole thing, and Bart did not come anywhere near her. Her parents called animal control, and we fought for months with them over this. It was a nightmare.

  Sure hope your puppies can stay inside with you for a while until this all blows over.

  perhaps you have to be one of those who grew up in the 60's to really appreciate this thread, but then my kids love 60's music too.

  who did you think were the best, the beatles or the rolling stones?

  is there a bit of a psychological angle here too?

  Stones, but as I was a witness at the time they were really hot, I only discovered them in 93!

  I'm beating myself up today....

  we're getting ready for vacation so i'm doing that odd-ball stuff that needs to be done.

  i'm walking into the bedroom with my suitcase, catch it on the doorframe, and it puches me in the gut and knocks me to the floor.

  my gut and ribs are still sore 3 hours later!

  So sorry you are having a bad day; hope the eye does not swell up too bad. Ouch!

  I run into stuff and trip all the time, but for me it is the fibromyalgia; don't know where my butt is half the time. I'll be standing in the doorway talking to my hubby and all of a sudden I am listing dangerously to the side and he'll grab me. I've fallen more than once... <ahem>

  Maybe you need to bake on a beach for a while or something LOL my favorite place in the world because it does not hurt to fall down in the sand

  You can't play lotto, but you can accept a lottery ticket.

  can someone explain to me why a witness can't go and buy a lottery ticket for himself, but can keep a ticket they find on the ground or keep a ticket they receive as a gift from a worldly person.. that's the explaination the witnesses gave me when i joined many years ago.. if it's a sin to play lotto, why can they accept a ticket as a gift or keep one they could find?.

  I had it explained that if the ticket was found or a gift, that any winnings would be viewed as a gift not as gambling. If you <snicker> partake in the actual purchase of the ticket, then it is a sin of greed, wanting something for nothing, and gambling.

  They have always strained out the gnat and swallowed the camel...

  what was it that was the real eye opener for you?.

  for me, it was after watching the video, "jehovah's witnesses; a non-prophet organization," and the point on how the org puts itself in a place between jesus and mankind.

  a position which does not exist scripturally.

  Edited to add: What they did to you was in my eyes a criminal act. JW elders and MS should be mandatory reporters by law. They should be thrown into prison for failing to report rape or child abuse and become someone elses 'girlfriend'.

  This makes me so mad that I had to back out of my post for a moment at first.

  I am SO SORRY that those creeps made you feel that it was your doing. Those men are so scared of their own sexuality that they cannot even take the responsibility for their own erections. You were just a kid and they should have protected you! Hang in there, you are not alone now!!

  Warm Shock On A Cold Day

  for those of you that know my background, you know that my only sibling, a sister (nonjw) disowned me back in the '70s along with my parents when i became a jw.

  when i daed myself in '99, i wrote them and apologized for making a terrible mistake, etc and heard nothing.

  i just got an email from my sister asking for my address because she wants to write to me, and she signed it "love, your little sis"..
