thanks stan for posting it!.
christian congregation of jehovah?s witnesses.
With as much information as is available about jw's in print and online, it is doubtful that the society is going to keep personal experiences and opinions away from researchers. Nice try Big Brother, but no biscuit.

a lot of posters on this board have expressed the opinion that religion is the reason for many wars.
some have even implied that if religion was "banned" the number of wars would be reduced.
pole .
Rarely is religion a primary reason for war. It is usually because some neighboring country has something that another wants; land, resources, food, more beautiful women, whatever.
Religion is one way to make people who usually would not think of murdering their neigobors follow the lead of those planning the war by de-humanizeing those being planned for the slaughter. Convince them that if the neighbor is not a believer that they are, evil, sinners, unworthy of life, have something that 'god' wants you to have because you are faithful, yada, yada, yada.
Religion has been a tool of war, but not usually the reason one has started.

hey all, i'm just sitting here trying to remember some of the books that have been replaced and the books that replaced them.
babylon the great has fallen - replaced with - revelation it's grand climax (wasn't there another revelation book in there somewhere?.
listening to the great teacher - replaced with - learn from the great teacher (yeah, nice title change).
I don't remember specific examples, but I do remember that whenever a new book was released that there were some people who would get out their comparison glasses and tear into them to find all the 'new light' which had grown out of the previous 'new light' which was now just the same old 'darkness'.
LOL

well my sister and her husband are now working towards figuring out the custody issues and divorce.
both being very civil about it.
my sister will most likely be disfellowshipped as she is with another man (a very nice british guy, actually).. .
Don't know that I could do it, myself. Maybe I'm the only selfish one here, but, I'd really have problems encouraging my sister to go to meetings in a group that I know to be an abusive cult.
Your love for your sister is great, I just hope this does not open you up to an intensly emotional rollercoaster ride of your own.

i was molested by my grandfather from the age of 3 to 7. he was also molesting his daughter (my aunt) and maybe others.
it was covered over and my entire family was actually shunned when we went to the elders when i was 18. i did not tell anyone about it until then because my grandfather had me believing our relationship was special and it was our little secret.. when confronted, he of course denied it.
my mother even spoke up of a time when he had tried to molest her when she was 8 months pregnant with one of my brothers.

i stumbled across this forum today as i was looking for information online as it relates to johnny carson and the whole john denver thing that was spread around years ago.
it's no surprise that i cant find a single thing on it on the web as i always thought it was an urban legend.
just angers me that things like that spread around and so many people just accept it as truth because a brother or sister told it to them.
Welcome, Uncle1.
If you have just stumbled across the site and are not familiar with the format of this forum, some of the posts that you will see may be difficult to swallow, but keep an open mind. There is a lot of great information here, and a treasure of individual experiences to learn from.
So glad to have you here. It'll be eyeopening.
