I just got access to a HUGE WT library...what do I want to get?
by wanderlustguy inmy brother and his wife (still very much in) just inherited a library of wt publications dating back to the 20's.
the best part is, it's complete with both the original watchtowers and bound volumes, in many cases there are 2 of each of the bound volumes, which i can have one of.
i plan on doing a lot of research on here to figure out what all i need...still a "newbie" you know.

The best part is, it's complete with both the original Watchtowers AND bound volumes, in many cases there are 2 of each of the bound volumes, which I can have one of. I plan on doing a lot of research on here to figure out what all I need...still a "newbie" you know. The best thing is, my brother has an open mind to comparing articles, etc, so I figure it's also a great way to plant a seed, using the bible where we're warned about false prophesies, etc.
So...which ones would you want?

i have been searching this site for a few months now and finding some interesting information, for now i am still a jw, confused as ever, feeling like my life is going to end and jehovah will take all the good in my life away by joining this forum.

it has become more and more apparent to me that the reason we were together, at least for me, was that i sought out the same type fo restriction i had on my as i grew up and stayed in "the truth".

It has become more and more apparent to me that the reason we were together, at least for me, was that I sought out the same type fo restriction I had on my as I grew up and stayed in "the truth". I posted about this before, but not like this. I really have commited to myself to not let this relationship restart. Reasons I think it is bad...
- She doesn't entertain the idea that there can be more than one way to view something or that her views could possibly be wrong. Even in the face of questions she cannot answer, even posed in the most civil manner possible, she simply clams up and responds in the "that's just the way it is" mentality.
- She thinks all people are inherantly bad unless they prove otherwise, most people are not worth knowing, and there is no hope for those she has "officially" determined are bad.
- I am in sales, however I am doing something wrong if I take a client (male client) to dinner, meet for drinks, etc.
- Any conversation of any kind with any woman is suspect and results in a literal barrage of questions.
- Any inavailability via cell phone means I am doing something I am not supposed to be.
- She cannot fathom what it is like to find out your life was all a lie, and can't understand why I would need to go to a forum like this and associate with all these people I don't know, or even why I can't just "get over it".
The thing is, even though I know all of the above reasons, I still feel the pain (hurt? anger? insecurity?) that comes from having something you love go away. So then I have to think, what did I love? That, too is similar to what the org did to me. They both gave me just a little of the thing I wanted the most, the "friends" the "security blanket". Just like when I realized I could be no part of it any longer, I feel the same lonliness and desperation, fear of yet another thing and person I love going away.
Anyway, i just wanted to write something because it hurts so bad, even though I know I'm doing the right thing. It helps already just to put this where someone else can see it.

watchtower red flags
by Ticker inwhen i was studying and in the org i never did put two and two together becuase first off it was peer pressure and a young baptism age.
i was indoctrinated as a child so i never got a chance to ever use sound reason and judgement toword the validity of the society's claims.
but anywho i was thinking the other day about certain things that are obvious red flags and far fetched claims that the org makes.

I just realized JW Ben is almost 50. How long have you been in "the truth"? The reason I ask is because your answers seem to come form someone with about 3-5 years in, with 2 of those being babtized years. Just curious, b/c you would know there is nothing promoting having independent ideas that is in print from the WTBS lately (easily in the past 20 years), it simply does not exist.
Would you buy a car from someone if he said you could check it out anywhere you wanted...as long as it was one of his mechanics or information guides you used?

Post Your Prayer for the Governing Body,,Be Honest as Possible

dear god,,no not you jehovah or jesus because your just archetypes of the collective unconscious,,i mean the real god the self the one the what ever you want to call it,,real deal that one.. please give enlightenment to all members of the governing body let them know accurately the pain they inflict on many innocent people who trusted them.
and let them turn around and give up this terrrible game.

Please let them know no sleep, help them to see the faces of those they've misled and lied to. Let them in some way find themselves in the same position as so many other victimized by their rules and policies. Let them know the deep pain that comes from being wronged by another so deeply as so many children have, only to have those they saw as their protectors and blankets of security turn on them like a beast with no thought. Let them know what it is like to be deserted by those who earned your trust.
Let them find their lives as empty as the promises they have made and let them know without a doubt that they are not good people, that their hands are bloodied to the bone, and no amount of witnessing and puffing themselfs up in front of others can wash away the stench of their wretched legacy of destroying something that was not theirs. Let this all take place in full view of all those they have tried so hard to impress, and especially let it be crystal clear to them.
