see, this explains everything - why men "never listen" to women :)
by zagor inhttp://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200508/s1431915.htm
men do have trouble hearing women: research
men who are accused of never listening by women now have an excuse - women's voices are more difficult for men to listen to than other men's.

Speaking of asking for help...
by cyd0099 inwhile you were still in, did you ever just decide to go it on your own rather than ask the brothers for help.
i was telling a friend today about the time i broke my ankle.
it was after a dub get-together and when in the next morning the shock wore off and it was apparant the bone was broken and i needed to get to the hospital to have it looked at, i chose to ride 10 miles on the same motorcycle i broke it on because it didn't occur to me to turn to my brothers for help.

Heya cyd, I'd say you're right with the last one. There were dozens of dubs who were quick to demand the services of every other dub. I too never naturally thought to ask for help outside of my family. It never really seemed sincere I guess, and the majority of my dub friends weren't people I'd have otherwise been friends with if they weren't supposedly "related to each other in the faith"...and that was always obvious to me.
Ouch for your ankle though matey, I'm feeling your pain! Frog x

??? hmmm how very odd they still all are. Those WT writers should do what most people do before the get their work published, and have someone else look over it first to check the text makes sense. Shouldn't come as a surprise that they're still churning out sh*t I spose...

Oh Zagor my friend are you trying to be controversial and wage one of those traditional battle of the sexes debates?! From what I understand it's best described as selective hearing, there's nothing much scientific to itl;) Personally I don't have much of a problem with this sort of phenomenom, since most men just lap up everything I've to say, hahahehe! New Book Exposing "Intelligent Design"
by AlanF ini thought some people would be interested in this, since the watchtower society has been gradually adopting (but not acknowledging the source) id-ish ideas for about a decade.. there's a new book out called creationism's trojan horse: the wedge of intelligent design (barbara forrest & paul r. gross, oxford university press, 2004).
it shows very clearly that so-called intelligent design (id) is nothing more than standard creationism masquerading as something new.
id is really just a jazzed up version of william paley's "watchmaker" argument, which in turn is a jazzed up version of the argument from ignorance -- "i can't imagine how that happened, so it didn't".

I was watching Lehrer a couple of nights ago & there were a few "experts" discussing the subject of Bush's request to have both ID & Evolution taught in the class room?!?! How serious is he about this? How much influence does Bush have on getting this through? Incredibly bizarro, the education minister must be hitting his head against the wall over this.

Living Alone... How Do You Do It?
by FMZ inas you guys may know, i don't ask too many questions on the forum, as i feel that i have a pretty good grasp on things.
but this... i am clueless on..
starting sometime next week, i will have my own apartment.

In my opinion FMZ (is that right??) I don't think that living alone is terribly healthy even for the most neurotic perfectionist who is impossible to live with! I think at the heart of things home should be somewhere that you feel loved, accepted and supported, and this is ultimately what we're all aiming for. While the majority of us are deprived from the ideal of immediate family, this can be recreated through true friends. I love living with people, knowing that I can tap into the association whenever I need it, and knowing that someone is expecting me at home. I hate the thought that I could be missing for days and nodoby would know. I think having that in the back of your mind isn't at all health. It's important to know that you contribute to a happy home, where people are comfortable to be entirely their pyjama ice-cream eating no make-up no pretense selves:)) I vow to never live alone, unless I am the last homosapien in existence! "If I had all the money in the world I would.........."
by anewme ini thought this would be a fun and mentally healthy question to ponder!
i feel better already just to think of this possibility!
for me, before giving away alot of it to charities i would first buy a couple of gorgeous houses strategically set in beautiful surroundings where i could travel throughout the year and avoid harsh winter temperatures.

I would buy out the WTO, and work towards free trade, and true egalitarian societies:)))
