Why does it go quiet on the board at certain times
by ballistic inof the day?.
i'm thinking we have more or less global coverage what with americas, europe and unclebruce.
is there a gap just now because some people post from the office and are traveling home?.

Questions You'd Like To Ask DOZY & Does Dozy have enough faith to answer?
by whyizit indozy seems to be okay with the un deal.
i've got some relatively simple questions that i would like answered from the bible, by dozy!
if dozy has enough faith to do it.. i would like to see one verse from the bible that actually says jesus & michael the archangel are one and the same.

Ultimately , however , we are all accountable & look after our own load.
I disagree with the idea behind this statement Dozy used in this context...
The self-appointed FDS are entirely responsible for misleading many 1000s of their loyal followers on this one. We all know that the WT has an intense mental, emotional and physical hold on it's followers through prescribed strict adherance to WT laws. A person may enter the WT of their own free will but they are not permitted to be liberal minded once they're in it. Don't get me wrong I'm all for be accountable for our life choices, but in this particular situation there are a great many other factors to take into account. The FDS mislead their people into believing they can put their trust entirely in them, and not be overly concerned with thinking for themselves, thus the dub drone mentality. To put your load on Jehovahs really means to shift your load mentally on to the WT org, even though they can do relatively little to alleviate the personal troubles and frustrations of those who do.

Most irritating adverts
by greendawn inwhat were some of the most irritating advertisements you came across on tv, radio, internet, newspapers, magazines etc .
i remember how margarine adverts called them good for the heart because they contained no cholesterol or saturated fats but they were loaded with trans fats that are indeed bad for the heart.
now good quality margarines dont have any but in the past they contained 20-40% trans fats.

I think the issue taken with the consumption of alcohol was more about the times the advert could be shown. Even in Aus there are regulations which prohibit the showing of alcohol in advertising before 8pm.

btw Wombat, it seems you're definitely on the right track re my hometown heritage...
no doubt there will be some rather cutprice realestate in Inisfail coming up soon...how do you feel about growing bananas? I think it's be pretty unlucky for a cyclone to wipe out the region again any time soon, although you never know with the crazy weather patterns we're having.
Tassie as you mention is divine, and yes so I hear has the cheapest realestate going. I've only been here just over a year myself, but love the climate & the outdoorsy lifestyle :)

Best experiences with spouses
by greendawn inafter the thread about the worst experiences with ex spouses and ex boyfriends/girlfriends, it is now time to ask the opposite question: what were your best experiences with them and/or with your current ones?

Frog
none to date Greendawn...but that possibly comes from not having had one...
btw, I hadn't taken you for a 44year old male Greendawn, you come across as particularly sensitive in your posts, that's a compliment btw

Yeah Frog.. The cringe factor really kicks in. Never mind. Even if they spend one night here before they return disappointed we'll have made some money out of them.
...I guess that's the main things WombatI suppose though that it's all fairly inconsequential since it's unlikely us Aussies had a decent reputation to speak of to ruin anyway...lucky we can laught at ourselves?!?...hahahaheheheohhhhthepainofit...

NQ wombat, more or less half way between Brisbane & Cairns, if that helps...
You really helped to put into context the extent of the devistation for me. We tend to only mainly hear about the human geography & inhabited places side of things.
Yes true about premier Beatie taking a lesson from the Mayor of New Orleans/president Bush, he'd have been daft not to have. Howard himself didn't waste much time in getting himself up there & coming up with relief packages.
