  jw memorial is coming up, i told myself i'm not going this year, having a mother a couple brothers and two sisters still "in" all pressuring me to attend, saying things like "this may be the last memorial b4 the end", you've heard the spiel before.....crap like that is putting a lot a pressure on me this year, wish they would just stop it and worry about their own crappy lives!

  I got the same pressure when I first left the org. I remember my dad telling me that even the lowest of the low who've left the "truth" still attend the org...

  But I was defiant & still refused to go...

  I'll bet you'll feel really empowered when you know the big M has started & you've managed to stand up for yourself and not go. Go out & have fun that night, or just stay in & spoil yourself.

  Stick to your guns matey, and you'll do fine. x

  Who do you love more?

  my uncle ocasionally complains about how my aunt loves her adult children more than him because she's always thinking about them, worrying about them and reaching out to them.

  i think that's a surprising viewpoint because i thought that most mothers (and many fathers) love their children above all others.. do you think that's true?

  should a parent love their children more than the spouse (or significant other)?

  I'm neither a parent or a spouse, but being a daughter and a sister I'd have to say that the love we have for different people that are close to us is each unique. There's no rules written for this sort of thing. I don't think your partners love you less than their children, it's just that their children are in their absolute care and trust, and can't take care of themselves. I don't think it should ever be necessary for a person to chose between the love of a child & their partner, each should be both able to get what they need. x

  I can understand, and relate, to those initial flashback doubts about "what if??"...however, I think that if you're still having them a couple of years after leaving the org, then you haven't properly slayed all your demons and beaten the indoctation with new education.

  But they can not be right, by now too much came up that shows them to be fake, Ray Franz's book has got enough in it to demolish that notion, what we have here is a bunch of rapacious individuals lusting for power and are above all self interested, the Mexico Malawi contradiction, the occultic associations of Russell and Rutherford, the very unstable and erratic doctrines, it's a joke really.

  I fully concur with Greendawn on this...it's all a joke to me now, the whole thing is bloody absurd. Thus the reason why I have very little understanding for those people I once considered intelligent and looked up to in the org who chose to remain there.

  I think it's really important that all those who make a conscious decision to leave the WT get to the point where they can unequivocally say that the WT org is a manmade publishing company full of double standards, driven by deluded power craving men, founded on contradicting polices, who use failed and failing prophecies to draw in desperate people, and use control and fear tactics to keep them and their purses coming back for more...
