Theists who have no issues with biological evolution - lame or not?

a poster recently described himself that way and it got me thinking as to just how strange that position is.

for the theist it's a convenient win/win situation, hold onto your belief in god while attempting to cloak yourself in science's robes of rationality and reason.

i think believers who hold this precarious opinion need calling on it.. for now i'll just say that this mongrelization of views is, to me, deeeply unsatisfying.

Hi Nic. You are wrong.

Evolution is a scientific theory. It has no agenda. ALL it is is a working model that shows how species diversify in time. The implications of evolution on theism is +/-0%.

The only exception being literalist believing that we are molded mud pies with a soul. These were the 19th century enemies of evolution. These are the 21 century enemies of evolution. They do this by making the same claim you do. That evolution and theism are incompatible.

Evolution is a scientific theory that shows how/why life is what it is today compaired to the past.
Theism is an illogical yet provable philosophy.
Atheism is a logical yet unprovable philosophy.

Theism (mono, poly, pan, etc.) is the belief in identifiable god/gods whether creators or not.

Evolution doesnt care whether there is a creator, god, or gods. ALL it does is show how life is what it is today without the need for intelligent interference from any god.

Help me decide on dinner?

one of those polls would be nice, can we do those here?.

so with either choice, i believe a salad of spring greens, fresh blackberries, slivered almonds and feta or goat cheese will start.. choice one is salmon steak, orzo with olive oil and garlic, and either broccoli or green beans sauteed in olive oil and garlic with a few carrot slices.. choice two is french rolls with pesto mayo, grilled veggies (eggplant, zucchini, portabella mushrooms), sliced tomatoes and muenster cheese broiled over all.. i'm torn.

It all sounds good but the salad. Dont think ranch dressing and blackberry goes well
