  first of all let me say hi, ex witness of 19/20 years here - left the borg about 6 or 7 years ago now.. just when i think that i am away from them for good, there is some knock on the door, a familiar face, or something in the media which brings it all back.

  how i would love to just let it go and live life to the full without remembering what i went through with the witnesses.. just last week it came back to me again, a knock on the door and i was caught totally offguard.

  i made my excuses and basically closed the door in their face but after i lamented on how i should have fought my corner, like i used to when i phased myself out.

  or traits cause someone to be susceptible to high control fring religions?

  distrust of society and government/religionbeing a social misfithaving some deep seated jealousy of successful people for whatever reason that causes a person to relish the idea of being smarter and knowing that the successful are completely wrong and will dieoverly emotionalinsecurity .

  or, do character traits have anything to do with religious susceptibility?.

  i just came across it while looking for something entirely unrelated to jws.

  he has an interesting take on an encounter with jws.. did you feel the preaching tactic/magazine topics that started out talking about something completely different than religion....were deceptive?.

  Personal "experience" is so flawed. Everything we "experience" is totally in the head. I can be on LSD and "experience" some wild shyte. That doesnt make for something to base a life around.

  what are your thoughts on the 2012 theory regarding the end of the world.

  we have read recently about the financial crisis being an early sign of this end.

  id like to know what you fellow brothers and sisters think of this.

  The sun being at the center of the galaxy may have some significance that we are not aware of.

  Yo! I find the 2012 phenom interestin. As far as the sun rise in the center of the galaxy (actually the dark rift). Only from earts norther hemi perspect... maybe lol.

  I plan to be eating shrooms, smoking tons o pot, and drinking beer in the wild 12212012.

  There is something called personal gnosis, a deep intuitive experience that leaves you in awe of the Divine.

  Ahhh yessss grasshoppah. Personal=self. To know self(darkenlightenallshadesofgrey) is to know "god".

  left you with a measure of faith that cannot be taken from you.

  Say there is a person you would like to date. You can analyze that person all you want, for as long as you want, but until you proceed to meet this person, that person will always be a stranger and there will never be a relationship. Your analyzing will probably prevent you from simply falling in love

  This is the exact point at which intellectualizing leaves faithing in the dust. It is the intellect that makes an abused person leave an abusive situation. It is the heart that makes him/her stay.

  It is impossible to know anyone. We dont even know ourselves. We constantly seperate the shadow within and keep it hidden from others. That nation are the bad guys. They are the debased. We/I are the enlightened. All the while our own depravity we keep hidden. Our own Shadow, it is the "other" person that we dont even know. Nay caliber we know not even ourselves how can we know god.

  At the same time it seems god is afflicted by the same problem. He is supremely good... (ya right) He never does wrong... (say what?) He has no darkness... (mmmkay...) Viewed externally and intellectually we can see: "ok he created everything... even the darkness... even at the very least the potential for evil." Intellectually we discern he must have darkness, evil. Intellectually we can decide to seperate ourselves from his abusiveness.

  Fine be a love struck fool who has faith that "he" is not going to come home and beat you tonight even though there is plenty of intellectual evidence to the contrary.

  Me? Quite content to stay as far away from the psychopath as possible, getting to know the only person in the world I can hope to ever know, ME.

  journyon not all faith is created equal.

  I have faith that the sun will come up tomorrow. It is based on my past observations and scientific principles. Im not 100% certain... but certain enough.

  I have faith in the real life people I love. It is based on my past observations etc etc.

  Faith in god is not that kind of faith.
