Interesting take on this subject mile 0. Of course the JW would argue that the blood represents life, and Jehovah demands respect for this by abstaining from its use in medical treatments. We all know that JWs abstaining from blood is a scriptural misrepresentation, as you have shown. If fact we could say that they are going against scripture in two more ways.
I recently asked my local rabbi about the Jewish take on abstaining from blood, and his view of the Jehovah's Witness stance on blood transfusions. He explained that the food laws can be broken when life was threatened. That the Jewish people were to 'live by the law, not die by the law'. By dying for the Watchtower, they are in DISRESPECT for life. The very symbol of blood in scripture.
Also, if they use the 'abstain from blood' as a direct order, then they go against this by abstaining from SOME blood.
A good question to ask a JW in this respect is:
Which particular fraction represents life?

Sanctity of Blood
by Mile 0 inthis is why i believe the wts is so totally wrong on the blood issue.
blood, as it circulates through a living organism, is merely a bodily fluid.
it does not take on any special significance until that organism expires.

My Brother Died in a Car Wreck Last Night
by WLG ini just found out about an hour ago.
he wasn't even old enough to drink yet.. to make it even sh*ttier, he had called me a few weeks ago and asked if he could come out here with me but i couldn't do it at the time.
so of course the first thing that comes to mind is if i had done something different it wouldn't have happened.. he was going through the sh*t as i call it, when witnesses go off the deep end and get into everything in the world to stop hurting and they don't even know what is wrong.

UN + Watchtower as an NGO + conspiracy theory?
by cyberguy inhas anyone reviewed this material?
i think the writer is mistaken on a number of issues!.

Cyberguy, this site is laughable, just read the summation to chapter six : If the Society agreed to support the UN and the principles of it's charter — which they did not — it would not violate bible principles.
First off the society would never agree to the principles of the UN as they have stated. And, secondly, they had three commitments to agree to the charter over their tenure.

I want to comment on this final paragraph : (thanks frank!)
:
For those who wish to do extra Bible study and research, we recommend that they explore Insight on the Scriptures, "All Scripture Is Inspired of God and Beneficial," and our other publications, such as those that discuss the prophecies found in the Bible books of Daniel, Isaiah, and Revelation. These provide abundant material for Bible study and meditation, whereby we can be "filled with the accurate knowledge of [God's] will in all wisdom and spiritual comprehension, in order to walk worthily of Jehovah to the end of fully pleasing him as [we] go on bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the accurate knowledge of God."–Col. 1:9, 10.
:
All bible quotes taken from the NWT:
First off, when Paul, in this letter is using "YOU", let's clarify to whom he is referring.
Col 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through God’s will, and Timothy [our] brother 2 to the holy ones and faithful brothers in union with Christ at Co·los´sae:
Okay, now let's look at the scriptures quoted:
Col. 1:9 That is also why we, from the day we heard [of it], have not ceased praying for YOU and asking that YOU may be filled with the accurate knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual comprehension, 10 in order to walk worthily of Jehovah to the end of fully pleasing [him] as YOU go on bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the accurate knowledge of God, 11 being made powerful with all power to the extent of his glorious might so as to endure fully and be long-suffering with joy, 12 thanking the Father who rendered YOU suitable for YOUR participation in the inheritance of the holy ones in the light.
Paul here is praying to God. He is asking God "that YOU may be filled with the accurate knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual comprehension". And "thanking the Father who rendered YOU suitable for YOUR participation ". But, who are the Watchtower asking for accurate knowledge? "our other publications [...]. These provide abundant material for Bible study and meditation, whereby we can be "filled with the accurate knowledge..."
They are also stating that it is their publications that should be used "in order to walk worthily of Jehovah". This is not new, (cf. Benefit From Theocratic Ministry School Education. p.33-38 "How to Do Research"). And if we add to this their favorite scripture in Matt 24:25-47, "to give them their food at the proper time[...]He will appoint him over all his belongings.", it's once again a reminder that the Watchtower has taken the place of God to its adherents.

The watchtower is again using funky words.

Just looking at the scriptures quoted, it's is easy to see this for what it is. Unscriptural.
I have used the NWT here.
KM : 1 cor 1:10 Now I exhort YOU, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that YOU should all speak in agreement, and that there should not be divisions among YOU, but that YOU may be fitly united in the same mind and in the same line of thought.
What does paul mean here? Anything to do with open discussion?
1 cor 1:12 What I mean is this, that each one of YOU says: “I belong to Paul,” “But I to A·pol´los,” “But I to Ce´phas,” “But I to Christ.”
KM : Col 2:6 Therefore, as YOU have accepted Christ Jesus the Lord, go on walking in union with him, 7 rooted and being built up in him and being stabilized in the faith, just as YOU were taught, overflowing with [faith] in thanksgiving.
But, Paul continues in Col 3:16 Let the word of the Christ reside in YOU richly in all wisdom. Keep on teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, praises to God, spiritual songs with graciousness, singing in YOUR hearts to Jehovah.
KM : Matt 24:45 “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? 46 Happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so. 47 Truly I say to YOU, He will appoint him over all his belongings.
But, we should also remember :
Matt 24:4 And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU; 5 for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many.
...
23 “Then if anyone says to YOU, ‘Look! Here is the Christ,’ or, ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will give great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones.
KM : Titus 3:9 But shun foolish questionings and genealogies and strife and fights over the Law, for they are unprofitable and futile.
But, they don't include: Titus 3:10 As for a man that promotes a sect, reject him after a first and a second admonition; -

http://www.watchtower.org/library/g/1996/7/22/article_01.htm:
Freedom-loving people are hard-pressed to understand why some governments and religions would withhold this freedom from their people. It is denial of a basic human right, and many people throughout the world suffer under suppression of this freedom. Will attitudes toward freedom of speech, even in countries that enjoy this basic right, continue to swing back and forth like a pendulum? Will the idea of freedom of speech be used to justify immoral or obscene language? Already the courts are struggling with the controversy.

avengers asked: "Why must "those" remain silent? Is it because they got money? or because they promised? or what?"
Avengers, the court order the Watchtower defendants to provide all their documents regarding how they handled these abuse cases. (this is sometimes referred to here as 'the secret database'). The Watchtower appealed against this, and lost its appeal. So, instead of acquiescing to the court, the Watchtower felt it in their best interests to pay the victims in an out of court settlement. One of the requirements in Watchtower insisted upon regarding these settlements was that the victims cannot divulge any information regarding the case, or the settlement.
