  Atheists, Agnostics: Do you still pray?

  for people who left, not only the organization, but also the canaanite/judaic/christian/islamic/bahai god, do you still pray?

  before we left the group we (my wife and i) were questioning the bible and the existence of god.

  being witnesses, we were uneducated and never heard of things like pascal's wager, but we (my wife especially) had come to a similar idea - even if the whole thing were ballocks, there was little harm in continuing.

  I think your right. I hope your not, but I think power is going to (maybe already has) get the better of him. It's up to the Venezuelan people, government, and military to temper his 'enthusiasm'. I spent a little time in Venezuela, and the people I met were pretty smart, and aware of their government (bad days of wiping tear-gas from my eyes). Their influence shouldn't be underestimated.

  My post wasn't to parade Chavez. It was to show that most of the planet agrees with the Chavez opinion of the current US administration.
  
  In fact, the current front runners for presidency , republican and democrat, don't agree with the current administration direction either.
  
  So, as much as you can ridicule this person, which is easy, remember that most of the planet agrees with him on touchy issues.

  Hugo Chavez is an interesting character. Most of the Americas love the guy, and his last speech to the United Nations was received with rapturous applause.

  there is an older guy that i know who attends my first congregation.

  me and him where both what you would consider 'liberal' jws, not playing by all the rules and having many 'independent thoughts'.

  We've been invited to a JC

  for those of you don't know our story sweet pea and i stopped attending all meetings quite abruptly about 4 months ago.

  since then we have had a few ill-advised conversations with jw friends and family stating our reasons - sometimes in emails.

  also sp emailed a new friend on another forum her experiene with going to a new church.

  Besty, it's hard to give any advice on you challenging this without reviewing your defense [sic], I will remind you this though. If, your apostasy is based on: "new found faith in Jesus", then you probably don't stand a chance. Faith in Jesus, is not faith in Jehovah, and certainly not faith in the FDS and his spirit guided organization [sic, again]. Which will be the question they will ask you, and remove you.
  
  By believing in a different faith as taught by the Watchtower, and then talking to other witnesses about this, is apostasy.
