so when are they supposing that Dino's walked the planet? With people ... slightly before?
I can remember seeing an illistration in one of the books in the eighties showing the flood starting, thunder/lightening/rain and the ark. Lots of people outside crying, and Dinosaurs.
I don't know if someone else can help me out here?

by IP_SEC inpersonally i believe that 607 is not the right date, but here is another point of view.. does 607 or 587 or 609 or 586 or 1914 really matter?

How would a JW handle this? 587 proved correct date for fall of Jerusalem
by confusedjw inso i put it out to you who believe the wtbts is the agent used by god's channel on earth based on the belief that in 1919 (3 1/2 years after the gentile times ended in 1914, per pastor russell) they were appointed the fds.. what if it was proved that not 607, but 587 was the date jerusalem was destroyed?
would that affect your faith?
would it matter that the teaching of 1919 turned out to be false?

I think so.
This statement of 1914 being the end of the gentile times is the primary piece of 'factual' evidence the WT&BTS use to identify the 'last days'. Everything else is supposition. They use this as their foundation for authority, and fear control to their cult members.

the last i remember was when the said to stay away from rap and heavy metal.

I can remember the music inquisition of the 80's, and Prince's Darling Nikki being quoted at a district assembly. One good thing came out of this though. I was being put under the pressure be our PO at his home to throw out my Punk collection because of demon influences. So, my retort was "well you have Barry Manilow, and he sings songs about show girls dancing in nightclubs, (subtle demon influences can be worse than the blatant). He broke his albums then and there. What a proud idiot.

I would have and did anything for them. Or, maybe for my parents. Being razed as a JW makes it hard to find the distinction between where the obedience to the religion ends and to my parents begins. (maybe its the other way around?)

by seven006 inlately on this board there has been a couple of threads that show how much the watchtower is being effected by the open communication of the internet and web sites like this one.
they are changing long time policy and trying new ways of getting their religious product to the market.
no longer do their leaders hear the voice of god and then pass it directly on as unwavering guidance to their customers.
