i am currently writing a research paper on why people become jws.
i would greatly appreciate it if many of you fine people could tell me the reason(s) why you joined the jws.
those of you born to jw parents, please chime in also.
I was born into it.
A few years before I was born my mother (2nd generation JDub) had an elder visit here at home. My father was not present, just mom, and my two bothers (5 and 6 at the time) and my sister(baby).
My mother was drifting away and hence the visit. The elder told my mom that if she turned her back on Jehovah that not only would she die at arrmagedon, but also her three children, pointing at each one individualy. Scared her enough to go back.

I have phoned to Nadine D., the french's volonteer in the Awake of July. I have talked to her an half hour (she didnt't know that i am an "apostate"). I was in his the same Kingdow Hall during the Rwanda's conflict
For Aidafrique, this association was not at the beginning an official's Jehovah's witnesses association. The french's doctor has build it WITHOUT the help of the society. According to Nadine, it was just during the Rwanda's conflict thar Aidafrique has beginning to work with the French's Bethel. The main office of this association was not in the french's Bethel at the beginning. As i can understand, this association was a private initiative of a JW.
Alan F. was part of that link, and probably has a better idea of the involvment. I'll wait until I see him post, and then ask him.
For me it's still a close call on wtbts involvment, as apposed to a group of JDubs helping out. Although if the wtbts are singing praises to this, the that may be another issue.

If there is nothing special about us and morality is just some emergent behavior, then why feel disdain for a rapist? Is he not just spreading his genetic material? Is not a killer just submitting to the whims of natural selection by removing competition
If you?ve ever been to a slaughter house, you can see the fear of present death in the animals, especially pigs. I don?t think this is a uniquely human experience. I think the primary unique human experience is being able to considers things like these and type your thoughts on the internet.
Anthropologist have observed what appears to be ?moral dilemmas? in many higher level animals. Elephant distressed, monkey abandonment, and dolphin rape. There?s a great link to this, I had a google search but can?t find it. I?m currently working, but when I get some time I try to locate it for you.

I think this is a recognized refuge center for internaly displaced people that can support upto 200 people with the
Presence of a physician and drug supplied by Jehova?s Witness Organization

an elder told me the book is jehovah's latest provision to cleanse his organization.. he said soon all people that have drifted, inactives, and others baptized and not complying with the biblical mandates for a jw, will be visited and given an option to shape up or ship out.. he said that if the person refuses the help offered by the congregation they'll be notified of the date of disfellowshipping and given time to appeal the decision.. he was so happy stating that this way jehovah's organization was preparing for the final clean-up before armageddon.
he sounded so convincing that it almost made perfect sense what he was saying.

For anyone has read the bible, and follows its teachings, they will know one thing; the decision does NOT rely on men as to any kind of salvation, whether those proclaimers are individuals, a religion, or sect.
The Christian scripture is, in part, a definition of the dismantlement of, Jewish Law, tradition, and the requirement of following a sociable structure or organization. If God has a problem with you, He or Jesus (depending on your interpretation) is going to be your reckoning.
When an organization tells you ?join us or die? alarm bells should be ringing in your ears.
If this really is a new direction from the Watchtower and Bible Tract Society of Pennsylvania then it is scare mongering, and a very malicious one at that.
