Does WT deliberation always fit to their conclusion
by A Paduan inin defining their beliefs and doctrine, and interpretation of scripture, has the wtbts always commenced with their conclusion, and made the "facts" fit to it (not that the 'facts' last long).. eg.
"the world" (other people) are evil, so vaccines are the devil's pus - we've dug up "a scientist" who says blah blah blah ...............

Sometimes, but most of the time they don't have to. When commenting on a mystical writings, it is always down to interpretation.

the prayer:
Joseph: *cough* Jehovah God, we come before you now to give thanks for allowing us to... be part of your organization. To... use the bible and uh... adjust our thinking. And to help our... our members... in doing the same thing. So that... uh... we can all reach the same goal. We ask that you would be with us now to have a... mild spirit. And to be able to... uh... speak freely. I'd like to give this prayer to you now in Jesus Christ's name.
Says it all.

Any photographers here?
by SadElder ini've been shooting with a canon rebel xt for about a year and have acquired a few nice lenses.
i've been thinking of moving up to a canon 5d.
anyone here have experience with this camera?.
-
stevenyc
Also, it will make a difference moving to the 5D over the XT because it uses a full frame 35mm sensor. So your lens focal length will be accurate, and you will get a much greater control of your depth of field.

I shoot with the 1Ds Mark II.
I haven't used the 5D that much, but what little I have done, I would say its the best performance / price camera on the market. You'll have fun with it.

Birthdays
They follow the word of the Governing Body over EVERYTHING and yet they don't think they follow the words of men.
Life isn't as important as blood
having two witnesses is more important than child rape
a blowjob constitutes pornea
all archeological evidence is posted by Satan only when it disproves 607bc
that a 12 year old is aware enough to dedicate the rest of its life to the organization
the reinterpretation of doctrine is ok because men are allowed to make mistake, but the following of mens teaching is abhorred -

THE WAY IN IS THE WAY OUT
by Terry ini got in officially in november of 1963 when i was baptised at the cleburne, texas assembly.
judicial committee cut me loose.. the way in consisted of having jehovah's witnesses demonstrate to me that there was considerable false information and hypocricy in christendom.
i lost confidence in what i had been told, taught and believed.. today, i believe that is also the way out of jehovah's witnesses!.

Terry, thanks for the thoughts shared.
: If it isn't about what is TRUE, then, what is it about? It is about being right.
I'm trying to form an argument about how the JDubs conform to a "puritan rule" that I know is there somewhere. I can feel it. And how, eventually all puritan rites either fail and the sect is dismantled, or changes.
It is based on their golden rule of being right. Being true. And using classical western logic to prove their truth.
Any thoughts?

Twenty four elders?
by Anony-Mouse ini dunno if this is just me or what but.... .
i have never heard of this!
nearing 17 years...and just recently the words "twenty-four elders" has popped up 3 or 4 times.
-
stevenyc
The 24 Elders were explained as the 144,000 in their complete sense once all had died and in heaven. There has recently been a few threads showing that they have changed their position on this.

Junction-Guy, I know what your saying, but I think its like mice discussing the benefits of mouse-traps over glue-traps. It's still all BS that takes your life away.
