"Bullseye," say Egyptians as they celebrate anti-US attacks
CAIRO, Sept 11 (AFP) -
Egyptian students, taxi drivers and shopkeepers crowded round television sets stacked up in electrical store windows in downtown Cairo Tuesday evening, celebrating a string of elaborate attacks on New York and Washington."Bullseye," commented two taxi drivers as they watched footage of the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York shrouded in plumes of smoke after two presumably hijacked planes slammed into them earlier in the day.
Another Egyptian man, Gawish Abdel Karim, told AFP he was pleased with the wave of violence in which another plane crashed into the Pentagon in Washington, the heart of the US defence establishment.
"Nice work," said Abdel Karim, who drives a car for an Asian embassy.
"The Americans have forgotten that God exists. They have us by the throat and now they find themselves in a science fiction film scenario, but this time Rambo's not there to save the White House."
Anti-US sentiment has mushroomed on the streets of Egypt and other Arab countries over its widely-perceived support for Israel over the Palestinians in the past 11 months of violence in the Middle East.
As with other US facilities around the world, workers at US government offices and Egyptian citizens were taking security precautions, with only "non-essential" operations set to be covered on Wednesday.
However, US officials said there had been no credible or specific threat against US citizens or interests here.
Abdel Karim hailed the attacks as "the best thing that's happened since the October War," referring to the October 1973 Arab-Israeli war when Egyptian forces made a surprise attack on the Israeli army across the Suez Canal.
"Mabruk! Mabruk! (congratulations)", shouted a crowd of people huddled round the shop window.
Egypt, considered one of the "moderate" countries in the Middle East, is one of the United States' strongest allies in the region, being the first Arab country to sign a peace treaty with Israel in 1979.
But people on the streets do not necessarily see themselves as US allies.
"The Americans are cowards. They use other countries to hit us. They don't have the courage to meet us face to face," said Khalil Matar, 43, who works in a state-run soap factory. "The myth of the indestructible United States has gone up in smoke."
Polytechnic student Amira Ryad also vented her anger.
"We saw the tower crash down," she said, referring to one of the two towers of the World Trade Center, both of which were razed by the attack.
"I only wish (US President) George Bush and his dear little baby (Israeli Prime Minister Ariel) Sharon had been buried in there too," she added.
Fellow student Murad went as far as speculating that the United States was behind the attacks, "to find an excuse for the National Missile Defence system" that Bush wants to deploy to protect the United States from so-called rogue states, despite widespread global opposition.
"Those people are capable of killing their own people to prove they're right," he said.
Egyptian President Hosni "Mubarak should know that the people can no longer be humiliated, but of course he'll never declare war" on Israel, the student said.
Another taxi driver said he was going to make special prayers to thank him for the attacks against the US.

Who's right? I don't know. But I know this:
The only democracy in the Middle East is Israel. The only country in which Arabs can vote for their leaders is Israel, where native born Arabs are given citizenship.
Most Arab leaders treat their people like absolute shit. The Saudi royal family may be the wealthiest on earth. Yet much of their country is poverty stricken.
Iraq? Saddam seems to live pretty well, but the country is starving. Somemay blame sanctions for the current poverty. That may be partially correct. However, recall that during the Gulf War, Iraqi soldiers were actually sent to war without boots. There were no sanctions then. This is how Arab leaders care about their people.
Other Islamic leaders are no better. The Taliban....well, their women are not permitted to be educated past age 8. Recently the Taliban was rounding up and executing DOGS because they were delcared unholy. Sorry Fido, you're dead. Meanwhile, the people are so poor that they live in tents and herd goats through the city.
Iran? Althought the reform movement is powerful (Khatami was elected with 77%) the hard line Guardian Council (they religious ruling authority) has rejected any attempt at reform.
My point is, the culture is different. I am not sure it can be understood with Western eyes. They don't value human life the way we do. It is evident all over the Middle East.
Retaliation will happen in this case. But our measued responses have not deterred anything. The terrorists who blew up Flight 103 were found and tried, as were the ones who attempted to bomb the Trade Cetner in 1993. Did it work? No. Terrorism came back stronger than ever, because teh triaal and execution of a few people does not resonate in that culture.
Instead, we are treated to Palestinians (a misnomer) and Iraqis celebrating.
There are always two sides to the story. Those Arabs and Muslims who support this behavior will tell you that these acts are what the US deserves for their support if Israel, or something to that effect. Yes, we are supporting the only democracy in the region. Yes, we are supporting the only Middle Eastern nation where Arab citizens get to elect their leaders. Yes, we are supporting the nation that gives Arabs more rights than any other in the region. Yes, we are probably guilty as charged in supporting Israel.
The only way any lasting change will happen in the region is if there is aggressive retaliation against leaders and citizens who support terrorism. This is sad. But it is true. There can be no understanding of any other means. The people of the region must be made to understand that terrorism against Americans means that THEIR family is in jeopardy. They must be made to understand that when they cheer mass homicide, they will be shown the other side of it too.
Middle eastern leaders have managed to maintain power by using Israel and the US as enemies, the glue that holds the region together. Rather than make changes, much of the youth of the Middle East is encouraged to become terrorists. (The PLO pays the surviving families of suicide bomers).
At some point, the people have to rise up against their government. But their governments are using Israel (and by proxy) America to re-direct their anger. They need to be shown that rising up in cowardly terrorist acts will only result in tremendous retaliation. Eventually they will get the message, and rise up against their own oppressive leaders.
Does anyone think anything else will work?

he told the elders what he did because he was looking for help and he ended up getting df.
later he found out he ended up contract hiv.

I think the problem is that she is afraid of the truth. SHE CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!! After reading COC she refuses to believe anything in the book so she has to come up with some kind of lie to cover the fact that his book was just a lie because she could not accept the fact that all these things are really true.
She told me that Ray Franz had some kind of conference where he told everyone that he had HIV and she was in attendance. BWHAHAHAHAHAI'm going to write to Ray Franz and PROVE to her that she is wrong.
Sad thing is that even if I present her with proof from the man himself she would probably come up with some other lie and still not believe the truth. How fucking stubborn can someone be? I guess she can't accept the fact that she is DEAD FUCKING WRONG. -
