Thanks for that. At least it leaves hope that the policy in general stands a chance to change. Looks like the battle was won by the WT but the war is far from over.
Thanks Berry's for making a stand like that.

.....(as well as on the wisconsin supreme court one.
stung by 2 high court defeats just 2 days apart, marci fights back, showing where she believes the justices erred and what the state legislature now needs to do in each case.
the question for the new hampshire supreme court was whether the elders had a duty of care toward the girl.
Thanks for that. At least it leaves hope that the policy in general stands a chance to change. Looks like the battle was won by the WT but the war is far from over.

The bible did say that there would be bad ones within, did it not?
This is the kind of reasoning from Jehovah's Witnesses that angers me, because it is based on a false supposition that JWs are THE CHOSEN ORGANIZATION. Jesus and Paul both warned that oppressive wolves would enter. These "oppressive wolves" were not just individuals - but groups. People like the Judaizers and the Gnostics. Later on it would be Arianism and others.
The bible said their would be bad ones IN THE CHRISTIAN CONGREGATION - not in the JEHOVAH'S WITNESS CONGREGATION. If you look at the history of Christianity down through the ages you will see there were really bad ones, and there were really good ones.
Jehovah's Witnesses are an example of bad ones. Why?
When you have a religion that encourages parents sacrifice their children to the god Jehovah over a weak (and weakening every year) "no blood" policy - that is Satanic - plain and simple.(Jeremiah 32:35)
When you have a religion that makes up a chronology that gives them fake authority as the sole channel between God and humans in order to weild their power and force people into a mind-numbing regimen of works - that is cult-like. (Matthew 24:48-51; Matthew 23:15,23)
When you have a religion that slaps the name "Christian" on their convention centers but ignore the very doctrines that supposedly make them Christian - that is hypocritical. (Matthew 7:22-23)

dansk (ian) is in the hospital.
as you know, he posted to us on wednesday morning (after the tuesday night vigil) saying that he felt very bad.
claire ended up having to go home from work because he was feeling so weak and having some trouble breathing.. here are her emails.
I never understood the prayer vigil things and now I do ... after being directed to your Torn Apart thread.
I truly wish you all the best and hope you can make it through this round.
Your torn apart thread was a great boost to me this afternoon, as I am getting ready to make my first presentation to my wife - and I am shaking and extremely nervous.

Your thread has given me a nice calm.
(Hope I didn't hijack such a sacred thread)
Best of wishes ...

well, last night i was completely determined to tell my wife just three things i had learned.
i was just going to focus on lies - not scripture, or stupid stuff ... just lies.. 607/1914trinity (trinity brochure lies)cross (reasoning book lies and archeaology).
if she starts to question other stuff, or if she starts in on a debate about the trinity, i was going to shut her down and let her know i am willing to talk to her about that - but not right now.
THanks CYP ... just checking in ... no ... still have got the balls enough to do it. Perhaps tonight or tomorrow AM ....
There's no way I can go to that guilt-inducing WT Study .... I've had enough. Please send positive thoughts my way ... prayers ... or whatever .... Thanks again ....

even though my dad is a jw i always thought that he was a reasoning man.
when i married my airforce husband he didnt really get upset, when i told him i needed to study the witnesses for myself to see if i truely believed the teachings he encouraged me to do so.
ive been calling him now and then to discuss the things i have been researching ( alittle bit at a time though because i didnt want to freak him out) a couple of months ago i told him about the un thing, i offered to send him the link and he requested that i send him a hard copy of the ngo letter.
Look at it as seedplanting. Any other doubts he may encounter will build on the doubts you plant.

it appears that prior to c. 1952 the watchtower was against all medical treatment.
it was then they announced that medical treatment would be a matter of conscience -- with the exception of the use of blood.
is that a fair conclusion?.
For the most part that is true. I agree with those on the board who suggest they might have gotten rid of blood transfusion ban completely if it wasn't for us apostates being so vocal about their hypocrisy ... heheh.
