Since 1975 there has been no year to set everyone's sights on(obviously because they don't want to add another failed prophecy to the list).
Well, many of us were pretty sure that the system couldn't go on past the year 2000 until they changed the generation definition in 1995.
That was when I became a real Cognitive Dissident.

My wife remarked to me yesterday that one of her close (and very cool for JWs) girlfriends said, "You know, that drama at the convention made me feel really guilty about building a new house."
(For those of you who don't know, I came clean on my true JW feelings to my wife last week.)
My wife also remarked that all the wives have been discussing lately how almost no husbands take the lead spiritually in their families.
I am not sure about in other places, but here where I live, the women are waking up and noticing all is not right. They are realizing it is not their husbands alone that are being duds - something else is wrong.
This was encouraging to me.

well, we finally attended the dc.
we couldn't go when assigned so we went this weekend instead.
i will say what a fine spiritually refreshing weekend it was!
Was the recurring "No regrets" mantra repeated ad nauseum in each experience and life story? (In addition to the drama ...)
Did you notice how almost every talk started out with how worthless we are, but if we do one of the trinity of things the Society holds to (service, meetings, & money) then we might possibly be valueable to Jehovah?

Club Dread
by the same guys that did the hilarious movie Supertroopers.
It even had lots of nudity - but the movie was so bad it even ruined that.

I can't wait til you end up on Oprah and all the JW housewives will watch it.
As long as you keep the JW thing in your pocket until halfway through any story (like you have been doing), you'll have 'em hook line and sinker.

Geez you guys ... calm down. If you are all into that ... I thought the "X" in Xmas would symbolize the "cross". If so, then Christ isn't really gone from it.

i snitched on a sister who used to spend a lot of supposed field service time in a local cafe, but she still counted the time.
she was spoken to by a couple of elders and was never seen in that cafe again.
of all the things i did as a "loyal" jw, i feel worst about my snooping on this really nice lady.
I snitched on a couple of cool teenagers that tried to buy beer at a local restaurant with fake ID's.
I was so proud of myself.
What a tool.

was, at times difficult, due to all the restrictions placed on them, .
which led to strains in the parent/child relationships,,,,,, then years later, after that child had grown and had children,,,had,,,well, come back to you.
i just bought myself a shredder to do some purging of life and paper:).
My oldest daughter is now in second grade. It kills me having to go and give the "We're JW's" speech to teachers.
Thankfully, it looks like this might have been the last year I have to do that.
