. 98% were lying backstabbing gossiping hypocrates. So I told my self I am not going in Service and lead ANYONE to this Hall.

It's not just your hall .... it is 98% of the halls in the Org.

The reason they are like this is because the FDS engenders this kind of attitude.

They reward hypocrites and punish honest-hearted ones.

I feel you are honesthearted and trying to get a balanced view of the WTBTS. However, if you were caught here by your elders you would be punished.

The ones that succeed in the Org are the ones that blindly obey regardless of whether it is scriptural or not.

The occasional feeling of closeness to God as a JW is what makes me doubt if anyone is ever really close to God, or if God is just something we make up in our heads.

So if God is real and the JWs basically spoiled it for me, then I am pissed. I guess that is the biggest thing I am trying to figure out before I go all Tetrapod or something.

Just Watched My G-kids decorate the Xmas tree...

we did a little bit of christmas last year.

this year the tree is more out in the open, and we are not hiding it.

let the bastardos do as they please.. what a joy to watch the big eyes as they put on some tinsel and ornaments.

I just threw away all six boxes full of christmas decorations that ;I bought over the past few years and another box of inherited sixties pastel colored ornaments with no regrets.

Bummer .. wish I would have known. I would have bought them off you.

i was just wandering.... was it just me or was everyone thinking about it..... ive been in a few congs where some of the sisters were absolutely drop dead gorgeous!

my last cong here in sydney, there was about 160 publishers so the talent was every where... i remember having the hots for this sister, who happens to be the wife of the service overseer... she was xxx hot.

i remember always having to wear my suit coat to the meeting to hide my excitement.. i think all the bro's must have thought the same thing.

Birthday celebrations and customs - Are they for Christians?

i sent my birthday document (http://thebentinel.com/jw-birthdays.html) to a poster here that is at the very least a jw-sympathizer, if not a full-blown jw.

the response i got back indicated that my reasoning on it was seriously flawed and essentially any idiot with a passing knowledge of scripture and history can tell that birthdays are not something christians should celebrate.. of course, if you're not a bible-believer or a god-believer, you couldn't care less about pagan origins and all that.

but let's keep this conversation on the 'appropriate for christians' vein.

Strange how the Watchtower will quote from the church fathers to bolster their argument against the celebration of birthdays, but will not quote from the church fathers who argued in favor of the Trinity.
