JW Disaster Relief - One of their biggest moneymakers?

.and i just thought they were so on top of disaster relief around the world because they cared.

but when i heard this a lightbulb went off in my head:.

we just had our co visit, and our co is the guy that was the head of hurricane relief in punta gorda, florida.

I know the WTs is collecting a lot of money from the disaster relief, and still I worked for free to help my brothers.

The reason I did it is because I trust them. My father worked as a chairman in a South American Country and member of the Branch comitee for 15 years, and he got nothing out of it, in terms of money. Actually he had to work for a living and he struggled a lot once he left the branch.

Plus, when in the same country, there was a terrible disaster and many many brothers lost their homes, the WTS got funds fron NY and all the brothers got new homes, better ones than the ones that they lost. And, believe me none of them was insured. That is the honest truth.

In many countries in Africa South america and Asia, the Society builts Kingdom Halls for free and provides disaster relief for free. Money is not their motivation. They might be wrong in many aspects, but not on this one.

Now, many non- profit organizations get enormous ammounts of excess money during disaster times.

Like the red cross, they even asked people not to donate anymore for the tsunami, and said they were going to use the money for someting else.

If they fix my roof I would donate my insurance check with no problem. Do you know how hard is to be without a roof and not be able to hire a roofer because all are busy for two or three months ahead???

Or, may be the WTS should say, we will fix your roof but please do not donate anything!!!???

The only problems is you guys do not know where the money goes ,I do.

I don' accept antibiotics, because of the bad experience I've had. I started with a little and ended up with heavy doses until I said enough.

My daugther got eczema vaccinatum meaning bloody rashes all over the body because of the hepathitis B vaccine.

My sister in law died at 23 because she was burnt in an accident and got a heavy sceptical infection right after a blood transfusion.

My mother is deaf because of antibiotics.

If you have arthritis, hepatitis C, MS, mD, ECZEMA, Psoriasis and many other conditions, the doctors will tell you plainly they don' know anything that would help you.

Do you guys really thing that doctors are trust worthy.

The Bible clearly commands the christians to abtain of blood. do you think knows what he is talking about? Do you think he had a reason for that?

More people die by accepting blood thatn by refucing it,that is a fact.

If I am allowed by law to refuse for me and my children chemotherapy (as supposedly lifesaving potion), shouldn't I be allowed to refuse blood transfusions?

Blood is an organ, if one refuses a heart transpland, nobody is alowed to say anything, what is the difference.

To my point of view one shoul respect the concience of the other including (WTS), and not put any presion on eitherside.

If you read Paul 1 cor 10:25 , you can notice that it was not requiered to ask questions to the butcher, being that their own responsability, not the responsability of the consumer. It was highly probable that Paul itself had eeaten meat with blood and scrifice meat. so, why shoul one carry a non blood document? If you wish its ok, but every conscicne is different and each of us should respond in front of God.

God also made exceptions in the blood issue, and is clearly stated in 1Samuel 14 and in the last verses of Leviticus 17.

being a member of an organization

does anyone need to become a member of a religious organization to have access to the "truth"?

i mean, i never did know anything about the bible haven't a jw knocked my door.

it's only when i've had my regular study that i became interested with digging the truth.

If you read the Bible in Luke 12: 42 - 48 you will see that Jesus predicted different kinds of teachers. One is faithful and discrete and the others are not as faithful, as the first one and one is wicked. Only the wicked one is punished with the unfaithfuls, meaning destruction. The others are tolerated, even the one that knowingly misstreated the servants and did wrong, is punished with many lashes, but not with destruction.

When Jehovah punished the house of Jeroboham, he remembered Abiud and ordera dcent funeral for him, because he found something good in him. although all his family was wicked.

Jehovah is not a monster because he destroyed this people of the past, just consider what Jesus sain about Abraham Isaac and Jacob, they are alive! Yes, their spirit is "asleep" waiting to be awaken.

Our dead and anybodies death doen not really mean much, because we have to die anyhow. Is the Lake of fire what we have to be afraid of, because that means eternl destruction, but that is only after the millenium for most of the people.

God is merciful allowingus to die or rest now that our bodies can only deteriorate. Death is stoppin suffering. Death is mercy.

So, do not think that you are going to be destroyed because you belong to a specific organization or not.

However, we have to recognized that the early disiples were organized and centralized in Jerusalem. it was the Governing Body of Jerusalem the one that made the tough decisions.

But if we analyze the teachings of Jesus, he predicted that there was going to be confusion among christianity after the initial apostolic period.

Therefore we have to admit that Jehovah is utilizing numerous organizations at different levels to proclaim the Gospel according to the parable of Mathew 25:14-30

Note different christian organizations receiving different levels of knowledge and making good use of it. Only one third of the slaves, was condemned, not because he lost the talent, but becaus he hid it.

Also note James 3:1 where the apostle (brother of jesus) advices that not many should be teachers.

Why a teacher should fear judgement, because no teacher of the Bible teaches the same thing and your teachings could lead people in the wrong direction, causing them suffering.

This means that teachers and even organizations ar Ok, but should not eclipse the truth of 1 John 5:20, we have to use our intellectual capacity to adquire knowledge of the True One.

Teachers can be wrong.

If Jehovahs witnesses brought you the truth to your door, meaning the Bible, it was not a work of the devil, because they confess Jesus as Lord and the Bible states in !corinthians 12:3 that " Nobody can say "Jesus is Lord" except by Holy Spirit

It was a blessing for you right?

However, JW had been wrong in many issues and are wrong in many issues at the present time, making no difference with other christian denominations. How do you know if they are true christians or not. Mathew 7:18

This "tree" or organization, has produced good fruits for the Lord, no question about it, but they are not the only ones.

They dont bear weapons (neather the quakers, christiadelphians, Bilbe Students, Second Adventists, some evangelical christians), they make an effort to worship god by his true name Jehovah and preach it (Sodo the Christiadelphians, bilbe studens and other groups), They help each other (alike other organizations)

If there is not certain level of orgnization would not be possible to obey the mandate of Hebrews 10:24,25 See also 1 Timothy 3:1

So, we do need a gathering, an orgaizaional arrangement.

What we do not need is to be binded to the point that we follow men and not God.

I like you very much, I think you are a true christian, and your thinking is clear and your understanding accurate. Specially when you admit you might be wrong. Believe me, I am a JW. A true JW.

It is amazing what I have read in the watchtower magazine the last years. They state that Jesus is the only apointed to judge, that we should not judge anyone.

I think slowly slowly the organization is correcting the biggest mistalke, to believe that we are "the only one". That was a bad idea that I think Bro Rutherford came up with.

But, you know whar, Gamaliel said that if a work is a work of God, no men can distroy it. And JW are blessed people, as many other christian organizations are.

God knows his ways. The greatest acomplishment is to let people know at great scale what the name of God is Jehovah. That is a work of God.

Jesus said that his servant would be asigned a different amount of talents and that theyy were going to be judged by their results. Only the one that did nothing was hold accountable.

In luke 12 we read that there were going to be slaves of god that would treat Gods people good. not so good, bad and very bad. And they were going to be punished with lashes depending if they did it knowinlgly or not.

May be some of the brothers of the Governing Body will get some lashes and some teleevangelist more or less the same.

Keep reading and researchin and not hating anyone, pray for me as I will pray for you.

Hello:

I am a Jehovah's witness but, I don't quite share some of the views of the WTS.

First of all, we have to admit that God cannot die, nor fake his own death.

The Bible also states that Jesus was resurrected by God ( 2:24 Acts) This means while Jesus was dead, Jehovah was alive and he resurrected him. Other verses are Acts 13:32, acts2:32.

So, theres is no much to discuss about the issue, Jehovah and Jesus are separate persons, that at one time, one of them was alive and the other one dead.

Now, to understand the verses of the Bible that seem to identify Jesus as God, we have to remember this facts and admit that the Bible cannot teach two different doctirnes and both be true.

The Bible teaches that "Eternal Father" is an apropriate name for Jesus, so we have to find out why.

The Bible says that jesus is the beginning and the end, we have to find out why.

But every time remembering the clear truth that I pointed out above.

The fact is that Nicea in the 3rd century was the concile that established (not by unanimity) the doctrine of the trinity. The rest of what you say is true. Jesus himself did not established any religion. but though taought that the christians will be divided until he came back.

How do we recognize the true disciples of Jesus? He answered, Mat 7: 16

If Jesus would have wanted us to identify his people by doctrines, he would have given us a multiple choice questionaire with the correct answers checked. But he did not, he said that love would identify his true disciples and nod perfect doctrine.

My rothers witnesses spend hundreds o hours trying to proclaim the name of god and the good news of the kingdom of god. They think it is an effort that soon will end in Armagedon, it is not. The Bible predicts clearly that one day all the world will be full of Gods knowledge, that time has not yet come.

The only thing I cn tell you is what I personaly understand from my daily readings of the Bible.

I have also come to doubts about the identity of Jesus, but at the end I always go back to the specific and non interpretative truths of the verses ( an a lot more) that I mentined.

The Universe has no limits and no center, so how can be God contained?

I understand that in the far past, God created the Word. A creature identical to him but finite and subject to death. This acient creature's asignement was to create the rest of the things following the will of God. And to command the rest of the creatures that would be created by him Joh 17:5,24. If he talks, al the other creatures could assume that was god himself who was talking because this powerful creature does not do anything by its own, but only what he sees the father do or what the father commands Joh 5:19. If you have seen the Word, you have seen the Father, they are one, as the Bible states.

Through him, the father sends blessings to al his creatures, using his Holy Spirit, or the Spirit of the Truth, wich is another manifestation of God. When someone gets it, is God himself that is atcuating, because is the power of God.

So God uses two channels to interact with his creation, The Word, and the Holy Spirit. Thatis is why no men has seen god before, but the one that came from God, Jesus, the Word incaranate.

When Satans revelion arose an opportunity was presented to Jesus, to rescue mankind from its destiny, but most important with that, to prove himself loyal. How could a so powerful creature prove himself loyal. By coming to earth and dying the way Jesus died. God offered the Word the opportunity of having an eternal spirit ( Heb 9:14). Yes, if someone could prove himself loyal to God to the point of death and extreme suffering he would grant inmortality. That was the motivation of Jesus to come and die, and of course his love for mankind.

Isn't Jesus the beginning of everything, yes. And after his resurrection to an inmortal life he is also the end. That was the will of God.

No other creature has been granted such holliness andso many priviledges. To the point that God allows us to proskineo to him andto worship God bending our knees in the name of Jesus, because Jesus died for the Glory of God the Father.

It is understandable that many true christians are not able to understand the nature of God and the Word and the Holy Ghost, because they are really manifestations of the same deity.
