I have never heard of an entire congo DF'ed. However, I would not be suprised at how far the Society would go to silence descent. They will cleanse the congo at any expense.

Photo slides to digital -- how do we do it?
by cruzanheart ini have thousands of slides from my life, courtesy of dad (who was a camera junkie like me).
i'd like to convert them to digital format because some of them -- since i'm so old -- are degenerating (kind of like me).. do any of you smart techie-type people know how to do that?
i don't have the money to spend to take them to my nearest camera shop, and i'd like to find out what the process is so i can do it myself (or big tex can.

After my father died we gathered all of his slides, 2500 in all and took them down to Walmart and they transfered them to photo CD. Also he had about 50 reels of 8mm movie pictures we had transfered to DVD's. Definately worth the memories. Very easy to copy and give to all the family.

Do JWS have a relationship with God................?
by vitty inhow many jws have a real relationship with jehovah ?
i thought i did but looking back it was a relationship with the organization that i had.. i did pray, it always went something like "oh please jehovah make me more appreciative, and stop me being so negative, bored at the meetings and help me to enjoy the fs " .
i always felt the "third voice " you hear while reading the wt, was jehovah, i know it sounds nuts but i think this is why even though i had doubts, i always pushed them to the back of my mind.

You would think that the Almighty God would have a uniform system to communicate with his creation and to guide it.
And you have just hit the nail on the head. It's not what God wants to communicate with his creation but rather his creation trying to determine his will. What is God's will, what does he want us to do to please him. This is what has lead mankind down the long and futile path of religion, trying to determine the will of God. Karl Mark stated: "Religion is the opiate of the masses". He could not have been more right.

Was there anyone in your congregation that you couldn't get to like?
by JH ini won't use the word "hate", but were there some in your congregation that you just couldn't get along with?.
i recall a brother in my congregation, he was single about 50 years old, and he never smiled, and seemed very rigid and he loved to criticize and say the opposite of everything i would say, when we talked together.. i went to the mall a few weeks ago, and came face to face with him, and he totally ignored me.
so, then i thought to myself, that maybe he is dfd.

I'm at a district convention sitting with a brother from another congo when another brother comes by and joins the conversation. He shakes my hand and introduces himself and says "What congregation are you from". I was in his congregation had been for 5 years.

after a handshake and a "Hi, how are you?" there was nothing left to say. I can't ever remember having a meaningful conversation either at the Kingdom Hall or in Service.
WOW, and I thought it was just me. Had an elder transfer into our congo. For a year and half never met the guy. Never said "HI" never tried to approach me to even see who I was. I thought that was odd considering he was sheparding the flock and was suppose to know it.
Had another brother having martial problems, his wife was a nonbeliever. He was about to get kicked out of his house. He approaches the elders to see if someone could take him in. Being single myself an elder suggested he call me. Never knew the guy, not so much as a handshake. So he calls me and explains his situation, I tell him it would not be possible to accomate him at the end of the conversation he says to me, "Who are you anyway?"

Watchtower December 1, 1976 p.711
Will all such friendliness with the world be of real benefit to any religious system? No, the Bible declares that "Babylon the Great," the harlotrous religious empire, will experience a great shock.
Revelation 17:16 says: "The ten horns that you saw, and the wild beast, these will hate the harlot and will make her devastated and naked, and will eat up her fleshy parts and will completely burn her with fire."
So there is real danger in becoming involved with the "scarlet-colored wild beast." Never will it bring real peace and security. But it will unleash destructive fury against the religious systems who have looked to it as man’s "chief temporal hope for world peace."
This should not come as a surprise. Even now many members of the United Nations openly state that they are anti-God. In turning against religion, the "scarlet-colored wild beast" and its "ten horns" will, therefore, not be acting out of any love for the Most High. Its going against religion will be an expression of an anti-God attitude. So even if it does bring about a semblance of peace and security, it will merit destruction for setting itself up in total opposition to Jehovah God.
For that reason those who join in any U.N. cry of "Peace and security!" face disaster, even if they are not in sympathy with "Babylon the Great."
Watchtower October 15, 1963 p.629This Resolution stressed that Jehovah’s witnesses recognize that the one true God is Jehovah, that the Bible is his written Word, that Jehovah God is the Sovereign of the Universe,
that men and nations have set up the United Nations rather than surrender to the sovereignty of God’s Messianic Kingdom, and that though nations have given idolatrous worship to that political image, this Jehovah’s witnesses refuse to do. The Resolution showed that radical governments have been formed, but that "We, as witnesses of God, the Source of life, will maintain our Christian steadfastness and have no part in such radical movements , but will hold fast to our Christian neutrality toward all radical and other types of human government over earth." -
