  i recently read an article about jw's that, if had the choice, would probably leave because of the deceptions, lies, etc., but don't because of family, friends, prestige, whatever, and instead lead a make-believe life going through the motions of being a loyal and believing follower of the watchtower organization.

  most of those purported to be part of this non-believing/participating, but attending, jw population, are folks that have been associated with the jw's for a number of years, but, as many have, decided that the lies and constant changes (new light) just don't make sense anymore.

  i would suspect that identifying those who just "go through the motions" of being a good jw would be difficult.

  Study conductor claims the "WTS is not the FDS"...and other JW affirmations

  i am currently following the ongoing saga of a person who is studying to be a jw and her unbelieving husband's attempts to sway her in this endeavor.

  he has gotten her to read cofc and she's halfway through it, but nonetheless, she remains bound to the jws and wants to continue her persuit.

  he has tried to call into question that the wts could have been appointed by jesus as the "faithful, discreet slave", but the person she is studying with flat out told her that jws do not believe that jesus chose the wts as the fds and, that they don't believe that they are the one chosen religion/church.

  From the Watchtower site:
  

  A person should make sure that his beliefs can be supported by the Scriptures, for there is only one true faith.

  So where in the scriptures does it say that the WTBTS is the Faithful and Discreet Slave?

  i am extremely skeptical about this, yet people on this forum seem to talk about it as though it were a fact.

  so has anyone got any actual concrete proof?

  It is not up to me to prove that you are wrong (sheeesh). It is up to the person who makes the claim to offer the PROOF for the claim.

  I hope you guys never end up in court! By your logic you would have to prove to the Jury that you are innocent!!!

  Come on, does no one have any PROOF for this claim???

  Actually the claim was made that the society moniters apostate websites and that was proven with the whois lookup of the name shown. You claimed there was no proof and it was provided to you. Then you claimed that the society didn't authorise such a thing, so you should be able to back that claim up correct?

  The wbts IS the faithful and discreet slave. Tell him he is wrong!!!

  For someone who says they aren't defending the wtbts it sure does seem like you are.

  But there is still not any proof, even if someone in Bethel did visit the site (is that wtbts ID is from Bethel), that they were authorised to do so!!!

  There is NO PROOF!!!

  How do you know that whoever visited the site wasn't authorised to do so?

  is clearly not theirs!!!

  I agree, the www.wbts.org isn't the watchtower site, but that isn't what was listed. It was the www.wtbts.org that was listed and as of now I just get an error page for that site.

  Supposing The WT DOES Monitor This Site..

  how can those doing the monitoring not be affected by what they read here?.

  how can anyone not be affected by the paedophilia scandal, the un scandal, the 1975 debacle?.

  how do they find someone to read here and still stay a jw?.

  Leading double life

  i ran into a young jw i hadn't seen in probably 12 years, anyways, she was the presiding overseer's daughter, perfect little jw... she's now 25 yoa, she is still an active witness and in fact a sympathizer to their crap but dressed in a low cut top, belly showing, carrying a beer, trolling for guys out a hot spot on a friday night with a "worldly" friend.. she talked to me for 5 mins and told me she had been df'd for a year but how horrible it was, she is reinstated and doing good..... but everything about her looks said she wasn't a good little jw.. i think more and more hypocrites are being raised in the organization.

  i wouldn't be able to stand leading a double life, i would much rather be honest and not hiding who and what i am... but there are more young jws, including ones i would never suspect, that are jws by day, and regular people at night.

  i think they are falling into the "sunday morning christians" mentality and carrying tons of guilt around with them.. i just wish they would wake up.

  Since I've never been a JW, I have a question. Can one live a double life while believing that the truth really is the truth?
