  Making contact with family

  some of you may know that my parents and whole family do not have any contact with me, apart from my dad who has provided his mobile number for "family business/emergencies".

  i never try to contact them anymore after a negative experience after being beaten up trying to break up a streetfight last november when i called my dad and he hung up as soon as he realised it was me crying on the other end.. .

  anyway - i decided that just because they want to forget about me i don't have to be the same anymore and i wanted them to know how happy i was.

  such situations are difficult to live... but you're right trying to have contact with them. it makes them know you love them (and maybe someday, they will compare you real love to the "love" they are supposed to live in their congregation), and it makes them know you will ever be there for them. and if one day they have doubts, they will need someone like you, who had never judged them, but always loved them...

  JW Mother Mourns Pope's Death

  i was surprised to discover how my mother felt about the passing of the pope.

  she mentioned even though he is different (regarding religion) he is still human and death is always something painful.

  i overheard her discussion with my grandfather and she said he did good things and jehovah can grant him resurrection.

  well, the way she seems to live the pope's death is a good point for her.. if she thinks that jehovah can grant him resurrection, that's really great! most of JWs believe that ONLY JWs can have this hope. i think that's a proove that she begins to think differently. of course, that can get her in trouble if she talks about that to other Jws, but perhaps the way they will react to her (own) opinions will make her think more... i hope so!

  My Last Post

  it's been really inspiring looking at the many posts and threads on this board, and i've enjoyed posting quite a few myself.

  regretfully, i feel that it's time to move on in my quest for inner peace, but i will always cherish meeting many friends along the way who support me.

  i've had both bad times and good times here, but it was time well spent.

  Recommend a film

  no big hollywood blockbusters, no explosion fests, just good films with a decent cast and a decent script.

  definitely nothing with keanu reeves and preferably something that will touch the audience rather than just wash over them.

  timeframe immaterial but quality is important.
