  Inactive/Faded JWs

  when the active jws come to your door, do you listen and take whatever they're offering, or do you not open the door?

  when i move out (which i hope is soon), i'm planning to fade, but i am sure that my father (elder) will insist on knowing which cong.

  Personal choices apply. I never ignore that knock on my door, however I'm much older.... been around quite awhile. I refuse to live in fear of facing up to people I know how to deal with. The worst thing witnesses can come up against is someone with even more kindness then THEY are capable of. As for taking the literature....if you do that's a guarantee of a return visit...if you refuse and they know you're a fader (in a new area/congregation) that's a guarantee of a visit by at least an elder and servant.

  I'm planning to fade, but I am sure that my father (elder) will insist on knowing which cong. I'm attending. What should I do then?

  Unless you plan on telling him of your intention to fade you'll have to have your records sent to another congregation. Plus, he'll probably be checking in with the elders of that congregation and may even pay a visit to see how you're settling in. (This is all a guess not knowing your family's dsyfuctional level.)

  Can Someone Explain Horror Movies?

  i try to be open minded and not judge anything but when i see these movie commercials----.

  i think it was saw iii or something, all this blood, gore, shrieking and grotesque violence, all i can do is ask with a sense of awe --why?

  why would someone want to watch that?.

  I love horrror movies. I've seen all but one that Crumpet has listed. I don't consider myself as "sick" or "twisted". These are just movies...not real....special effects. All those actors that were horribly "butchered" laughed all the way to the bank. If you want real horror... imagine yourself in most of the scenes of the Hebrew Scriptures or as "bird food" during the great and wonderful day of God Almighty. Just my blood stained 2 cents.

  sorry if this has been discussed to death but......... now that i'm not sending $$$$$$ to ny i suddenly find i can treat myself to guilty pleasures.

  i bought an 80gb ipod (which i love dearly) and was just wondering if anyone else has succumb to this "fetish"?

  any tips or extras i might need to know about?

  Now that I'm not sending $$$$$$ to NY I suddenly find I can treat myself to guilty pleasures. I bought an 80GB Ipod (which I love dearly) and was just wondering if anyone else has succumb to this "fetish"? Any tips or extras I might need to know about? How about a protective case?

  I've downloading all of my "hippie" era music into "mypod" plus a couple of movies. Any recomendations on music videos....my kids are grown and gone....help!

  when i was in the states, texas to be accurate, i attended some congs and got to speak to a few people, and i couldn`t believe how many times individuals were d/f, sometimes 3 or 4 times, and they were also married the same times as well, in the so called `truth`.

  i did feel that it made a mockery of the `truth` as in england, most people are only d/f once, very rarily twice or more.

  i know america is more advanced in many areas, good things and bad, but i was shocked at the ratio out there.

  bronzefist- that`s typical, the victim always suffers more. Have a mad passionate affair with someone in the cong, and then d/a before they can d/f you.

  After a couple of failed marriges to pioneer "sisters" I was thinking of becomming homosexual, but that would probably be a pain in the butt after awhile too. No offense to any board members who are gay by the way.

  Had a shotgun pointed at my son and I. Had the cops called out a couple of times in a "call ahead" territory. Had some kids spit on me from a second story porch while calling out, "Hey baldy!", but can't call that "hair raising" cause none grew. Had my ex push me aside because a women came to the door in a "see thru". Got chased out of an apartment building by a beer belly in dirty boxers. Saw a young sister get bit by a dog that was siged (sp?) on her. Had a pioneer brother tell me he was pushed down the steps by some householder. Went to houses that were shot up the night before.
