Which is worse, Islam or Christendom?

lets first start off with the islam.. supposedly, the great prophet mohammed married a 7 year ol girl, but agreed not to consumate the marriage until she was 9.. (must we conclude that the founder of the islam was a pedophile?

now christendom.. mary conceived a child while virgin.

Good for you I hope you find every happiness in you faith.

Those of you who ware now secular, atheist, agnostic, or pagan I hope you see that what you experienced at the hands of the GB and the elders of the "truth" were mere men.

Very aware thank you and happy in my current beliefs that the god you worship is no more than an outdated mode of social control.

There, now we're both happy.

well i finally have stopped to say hello.

i have been searching this site for a few months now and finding some interesting information, for now i am still a jw, confused as ever, feeling like my life is going to end and jehovah will take all the good in my life away by joining this forum.

i have so many concerns and as you all know have no one to talk to.

i had an idea that i could build a uk map of everyones location which would show you instantly who is in your area from jwd.. (it might be an idea to do a seperate us one aswell but i'll wait and see if this one takes off first, or if anyone from the us wants to volunteer to do that one).

(and australia but you are all in the same backyard anyway - literally!!!).

anyway, all you have to do is post or email me your username and town and i will draw you on the map above which will change gradually to include everyone!.

Could some-one please explain American football to me!

i get all that stuff about downs and 10yards, and about kicking the ball through the goals and all.

but, having never played gridiron/american football, there is one thing i just dont get everytime i watch the bleedin' game.

i have played australian football(aussie rules) and rugby league.

I'm sorry but American football is a great game in itself and though it uses the same shaped ball as rugby the two should never be equated the same. I don't know as much as I'd like about the game but try looking at it like this. In games like rugby and football the two teams are like a couple of swordsmen with thrust, parry and counter thrust. The flow of the game is continual and dictated by the players on the pitch.

Now American Football. Think of it more like two generals (the coaches) at war, they command the troupes and pick and change to suit the situation. Instead of the continual flow of melee it takes place over a series of smaller battles.

That's my take on it anyway. I came up with the analogy on Wednesday night watching the England v Holland. Anyone else who watched it will know why I was making up analogies. Thanks Sven for sharing another training session with us.

When did you stop growing ?

it's seems that people can grow about until they are 25 (unless a sickness still make them grow).

i've stop growing at 12, i'm the same size since then 5'5'.

also they told me that anyway having a baby at 14 would had stop me growing anyway that i should have been taller !

I had a friend who had what sounds like the same thing. He was about 6' 9? or something and if he hadn't had the operation he would of kept growing till his skeleton wouldn't of been able to take the weight. He was lovely bloke and use to be a submariner, 6' 9? and stuck in a tin can under the sea. Also so had a girlfriend who was only about 5' 5"

but you have to admit that some are nice caring people.

my wife missed the meeting to night due to flu and a sister who has far more health problems than us phoned to ask after her.

she even asked after me, brother 'long time no see'!

Of coarse there nice, my family are JW's and they're nice. I had loads of ?aunts and uncles? in the cong that where lovely. The flock are unselfish, loving funny and helpful. Its the shepherds that have the crooks and threaten wayward sheep that the loving flock will be denied to them if they step out of line that are the bastards.
