My non combatant Action Man
He never went to war
My friends had Germans, tanks and Jeeps
He stayed behind the door
My non combatant Action Man
Would not take up armaments
Objected to matters military
For reasons of con-sci-enceHis cloths had no insignia
No weapon by his side
If the cavalry came charging
He'd run away and hideWith plastic cannons roaring
When others heed the call
You'll not find my Action Man wanting
You'll not find him at allI admit I often wondered
About the scar upon his face
Did he get it skiing
Or going off in spaceIt could have been whilst diving
But one thing can be sure
He didn't get it fighting
'cos he never went to warHe had the plastic real grip hands
He had the eagle eyes
But he never date Sindy
Nether were baptisedHe never got to kiss her
Or see how far she'd go
Though the questions academic
He had little down belowSo I look back on my Action Man
Not dashing, slick or bold
But none the less no coward
He just did what he was toldIf my Action Man's still out there
I hope that he is free
To make his own decisions
And be happy just like me. -

Making contact with family
by Crumpet insome of you may know that my parents and whole family do not have any contact with me, apart from my dad who has provided his mobile number for "family business/emergencies".
i never try to contact them anymore after a negative experience after being beaten up trying to break up a streetfight last november when i called my dad and he hung up as soon as he realised it was me crying on the other end.. .
anyway - i decided that just because they want to forget about me i don't have to be the same anymore and i wanted them to know how happy i was.

Good on you crumpet. I know how hard making that first step to re-contact your loved ones can be. When I was being shunned I accepted it, I think it had a lot to do with my conditioning. Looking back I think a small part of me still felt it was Jehovahs will and I deserved to be shunned. What a messed up religion that turns kids out that way. I think your approach of getting in contact with them when your in a positive mood is spot on.
I am of course hoping you have all the success you deserve rekindling a relationship with your family. It's always come across in your posts how much it has effected you and even if the result your looking for doesn't come instantly it's better to take an proactive approach that to let the situation control you. You are right in taking it slow, though it's tempting to force the issue your family need to be edged slowly away from their indoctrinated ban on communication and to let their parental side start dictating how they treat you.
Again I'm hoping for every success in you venture and please, please keep us informed of your strategy and progress as an example and an encouragement but most of all because it make me so happy to hear your doing so well.

Wacky quote about not killing DFd people
by rebel8 inthis is one of my fave quotes from the bizarre wt archives.
it illustrates how underhanded they are.
although this is an ?older?

The law of the land and God's law through Christ forbid us to kill apostates, even though they be members of our own flesh-and-blood family relationship.
I mean...sorry but....it's just....."even though"...."fleash and blood".....like that gives anyone the right....
WTF.
There's a word for this, honour killing.
I've read and reread this and each time it reads ?if only it wasn't for them damn goody goody laws we'd show them. Oh well lets make their lives as unbearable as we can.?

Are we really free or are we just kidding ourselves?
by cyborgVision inhope i can get some positive feedback., and i really mean it, don?t want to offend anyone but .. .
reflecting on your own experiences are people on this website mainly open to new points of views, new ideas, or is this mainly a site for criticizing even when there?s no concrete evidence just for the sake of it.
reason why i?m asking this is because i?ve been a member here for just under a week here and already had unpleasant experience of being dragged into pretty nasty argument just because i dared to disagree with someone.

My own take on it is that this sort of thing shows how free we are. Instead of all bleating along to the official line we discuss, debate and even argue. I must say I see the point you made as valid and I too would not pursue the point regarding the plane usage without further evidence of involvement or site it as a ?smoking gun?. That is not to say others may run with it to their advantage.
In my opinion a discussion however heated should never leave the thread. I've seen excellent arguers on other sites argue on one thread and back each other on another at the same time.
As for the point of this website http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/87993/1.ashx

Thanks!!!
by Low-Key Lysmith inat the risk of soundy mushy, i would just like to thank everyone for being a part of this board and making it what it is.
in the 14 years since i have been out of the b'org, i have pretty much had to deal with building myself back up by myself.
in the short time that i have been a part of jwd, i have realized that there was a lot of things that i had just repressed and locked away.

Me too. Some of the issues razed here a have made me question a lot of my motives and responses, helped me release a whole load of tension that I'd been building up and to deal with the paranoia that has been a constant but unwelcome companion. I can't wait to move on and join the ?Getting Over JWD? forums in the future.

I take great pleasure telling my mother how happy my marriage is after living with my then partner for 9 years before and having two children out of wedlock. Especially when she tells me of another JW divorce.

I'd like to know first what the options are. Are we talking everlasting life or everlasting death? Maybe heaven or hell with a bit of purgatory thrown in. Is it a pass/fail situation or will we have a sliding scale of some sort?
Secondly, does a creator have the right to judge his creation having given them free will?
