I've done the old bead up the nose trick as a kid. If I remember right I did it on a Sunday morning just before we had to go to the KH. Missed the meeting and stayed home and watched TV

Having gone through the trauma of puberty and emerging a man I thought that my days of surprise hair sprouting were behind me. Unfortunately I was wrong. My nose for instants. I understand the need for some filtering and the tufty growth up each nostril has served me well for many a year. It appears now that as I progress in years I will become more susceptible to dust partials as each nostril has taken it upon itself to race for the lip line. Wise planning on my part has place a moustache barrier in the way that offers some camouflage but a biweekly plucking is still needed. I'll progress now to the external surface of the nose. I have always looked upon my nose with great fondness, neither too big or too small, straight and well proportioned it is is free of pockmarks or the ravages of the sauce. It has served me well up until now but my facial friend now turns on me and presents the occasional tough black hair, for what purpose I can begin to imagine. To balance any nasal protrusions my beard has taken it upon itself to head south and is currently holding at three quarters of an inch from my eye lids. I shall be practising my fire eating, tightrope walking and juggling in preparation for my time with the carnival.
All the above I can live with and accept, there is one thing however that I am ashamed of and of course is the one thing I have the least power to control. Ear hair. It grows daily. It serves no purpose. It either clumps together on that triangular bit of cartilage or sneakily sprouts a full length head hair out the side that grows happily whilst blending with its more conventional brethren. It is naturally in the most inconvenient place to tend being a two mirror job and as I live in a house full of females the chance of a portable mirror staying in the same place from one day to the next aren't worth thinking about.
Some men fear going bald but not I. I long for the day when I can put down my tweezers but in reality realise that my unsightly hair will soon be in the majority. Oh well maybe I'll just have to embrace the ear hair comb-over.

What I know about women can be written on a stamp and I'd still have room for the address, but If I think I've learnt anything it's that women see things in the long term, they will act subtly and they will test. Newly wed couple, will he stay with me when my looks are gone? Will he still find me attractive? If I just put on a few more pounds will that make a difference? OK I might be generalising or I might be completely wrong.

Sensible eating and sensible exercise. Find a eating routine you're both happy with. What has worked for my wife is I do all the shopping, no snacks, biscuits or pop and she's has a very trim figure now. It's not a diet it just how we eat now. A little of what you fancy now and then, not as a treat for being so good, food isn't a reward or a comforter. We also have two young daughters so we want to get them into good habits while we can.
Maybe your wife's eating is due to an insecurity or something like that. Maybe she's realised that she's married a superficially man who lets a few rolls of plumpness get in the way of the lovin'.

light skin: so much for intelligent design...
by googlemagoogle in... and evolution, by the way.
if we were designed by an intelligent creator, why the heck do we light-skinned people get burnt to death when the sun is shining?
not very intelligent design... .

So you’re saying that greater social pressure will be put on the offspring of black white unions than the black white union itself? From my own anecdotal evidence between British and West Indian I’d say not but I will observe closer and be interested in this website you mentioned.

Philosophy - is it worth the bother?
by Abaddon ini fully admit to only having dabbled in the waters of philosophy up to now.
i kept on being put off by the smell... .
having said that, is there anyone more clued up than me about the subject who can tell me anything that might make me change my mind?.

Studying philosophy teaches you how to think not what to think.
I don’t claim to be an expert, the wife and I have been know to debate individuals points of view on occasion but we’ve never come up with anything definite.
The two biggest advantages of philosophy I’ve found are that it gives a better understanding of the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and a profound incite into their drinking habits
“Immanuel Kant was a real puissant Who was very rarely stable.”

Angel Wings - What's the problem?
by Nellie inonce you start questioning the beliefs of the organization, all kinds of things cross your mind.
for instance, the bible clearly describes angels as having wings - and the wbts illustrates them with wings in their publications - so what's up with the whole "not displaying images of angels" in witness homes, etc.
through the years i bought the position that angels are not children, so the images of babies with wings and halos are inconsistent with bible truth - but what's wrong with images of adult angels with wings and why are witnesses encouraged not to display them?.

Angels would only need wings if they where physical beings, take that further and why would they need human shaped bodies at all?

evolution promotes qualities that allow a creature to survive to reproductive maturity, not necessarily to survive for the longest time. if a lifeform reproduces at 15 and dies of skin cancer at 16, their genes have still been passed on and they have been successful from an evolutionary standpoint (their genes have survived another generation).
Yes but if they survive till they are 50 and don't have tumours growing out of there face they will have the chance to make a greater genetic contribution.
Living in a multi ethnic community I see a lot of children of mixed race and wouldn't be surprised if in a few hundred years (peanuts to evolution) this will be the norm.

F1 Racing suddenly watchable again
by Simon inis it just me or is this year's f1 season a lot more exciting than previous years?
the wildly over-rated m.schumaker is no-where to be seen and no one team seem to be dominating (normally ferrari with the rules and decisions skewed to suit them).. heck, they have even been overtaking at monoco!
(normally an "hour-long parade lap").

Though it was a political decision on the part of the FIA against Michelin not to have a chicane put in I think it was the right one as it would of totally changed the character of the track. Personally I think that new tires should have been allowed with the Michelin runners taking no points from that race.
Indianapolis is the worst track in the F1 season, I'm sure that there are plenty of tracks in the US more fitting so why use a modified oval?

F1 is back to what it should be, an endurance race not a series of 3 sprints. I was sad to see the tire change go but after two races realised that this was what unbalanced the sport and gave the chance for people like Schumaker the chance to win by maths rather than racing. There are arguments that F1 should be the pinnacle of motor technology but the back to basics approach is making it a far more entertaining sport. Good news is that slicks are being considered again.
One thing I think they should change back is the qualifying. The two one hour open track sessions might mean not all the sponsors get their advertising in and sometimes there was no action for the first half hour but the last 10 minutes was edge of seat stuff.
