COLLEGE STUDENTS!

who in here is going to college, is planning on going to college or has already graduated (or dropped out :-p) just say what your major is, will be or was.

right now i'm a double major as a comp sci and comp engineering, i may get a minor in afro american studies too.

I'm working backwards. I have a successful professional business but because I wasn't allowed the opportunity to attend college as a young person, I am pursuing it now. I also feel it is important so that I can avoid being a hypocrite with my children when it comes time for them to attend college. It will probably take me that long to get my degree, but as long as I keep on working at it, that is what matters. I'm currently taking two online classes as this is my slower season (work-wise), but will only be taking one otherwise.

i decided to start this topic when ozziepost shared the experience of a bethel representative telling him and mrs. ozzie "and don't forget, we've got your children!

it's important for us to hear these experiences and to share them with each other.

it helps us tear down the mistaken beliefs that the incidents that happen to us are not isolated ones, but are in fact par for the course when one parts ways with the jws and wts.

When I was in the borg at my most entrenched, I was in the top cliques (it freaks me out completely now). I used to hear the most horrendous comments from supposedly ultra-spiritual elders and COs. The way they would make disparaging comments about those who were physically or mentally-disabled, poor, beauty-challenged, or older make me ill to this day. After that experience, it broke down the mystique of these larger-than-life figures on the stages at the conventions. All I saw was hypocrisy. The veil was lifted. I started to see how those who had the most money also had the most influence on local unwritten policies on moral issues. I no longer believed that the org was the the inspired channel of Jehovah because, despite the claims of some, corruption didn't "eventually come out." The corrupt elder went on to be the corrupt substitute CO who moved on to a permanent CO assignment. I remember sitting at assemblies with a disgusting taste in my mouth as I watched them march up to the podium knowing that they had conveniently gave the CO $2000 a couple months before the assignments for speakers came out.

What is your IQ?

my iq is 130 i have taken the test twice and both times it was 130. the detailed report said i am very high in math and logical thinking, but lower on language skills.

i believe this site has helped me with spelling and grammar.

i type rather fast now compared to when i started posting.

I was tested back in high school and had a score of 143. Personally, I think there are better indicators of intelligence than an antiquated test developed by an egocentric nineteenth-century scientist.

My husband and I have early dinner reservations at 5:30, Symphony at 7, and fireworks/clam dig out on the Gulf of Mexico at a big time party my friends are throwing. Big night, so excited!

Hi Justin, I don't know you, but your post spoke to me (maybe because I'm an artist too). I heard a lot of pain in your words. I'm really worried about you. Do you have a place you can turn to right now outside of your past that will be a sounding board to you? Do you have a support structure? This is going to get better. I know it is a dark place right now, but it will slowly become easier. Don't give up; hang on.
