  Hey MJ,

  Glad to see you are keeping up on your cult watch activities.

  I saw these guys last week on TV. I was watching that TJ Jakes guy preach. Then I saw the name Potter's House flash up on the screen and the name rang a bell for me. I know I read about them somewhere on a cult watch web site.

  I showed the show to my wife. I haven't had a chance to look into them, since I have been away, but I am going to look into them some more.

  People who are trying to help open minds/hearts/eyes need to be well versed in several cults, not just jw!!!

  As anyone dealing with the jw knows, you can run down other religions all day. If you can talk about another group that acts the same way, you will indirectly force the jw to acknowledge their own groups misdeeds.

  I gave her the letter.

  It went pretty well. She cried some, and acknowledged what a raw deal it all is for me. Hopefully she will start talking to me more about these things, instead of me just coming to her.

  That is really all I was after.

  i have noticed that most become open to leaving the org when they have a bad experience with some member.

  the real kicker is when the elders treat them like crap over the incident.. i have thought alot about the possibility of engineering a situation whereby my jw spouse could feel the love of the organization.

  i know that might sound a little underhanded, but i figure it is no more underhanded then using mind control techniques and lies to harm my family.. so i basically have two marks.

  That is exactly the kind of stuff I am looking for. I am not saying it will all work the way you are talking about. These are all based on a complex combination of personalities. I understand nobody is going to be able to give me an exact plan.

  I am just hoping to get some ideas that can help me understand how to proceed.

  See, I just don't know the ugly side of the dubs well enough to know the cause-effect chain of bad behaviour. They just keep so much of that hidden from me. How do I get them to treat her, me, the kids like crap is basically what I am asking.

  So I basically have two marks. One is a super sister pioneer who is always checking up on my wife when she doesn't meet her meeting/service requirements. She is a total know it all, and is very nosy and condescending. The other one is a better opportunity, but it is also a little harder to control. There is a ms who obviously has the hots for my wife. I don't want anything creepy or bad to happen to her, but I do think he could be counted on to do something stupid that I could work with here.

  Any ideas of how I could use these two marks? Any ideas on how a difficult situation could be encouraged? Basically anything that would bring unjustified hostility to myself, my wife, my children would be perfect (and causes absolutely NO HARM to any of them)

  What were your eye opening experiences, or others that you saw? How did they play out. How could they be engineered?

  Be creative! This is brainstorming! No dumb ideas rejected!

  Hey pistoff.

  I totally agree. Everytime they talk about ubm's at the hall I just bristle. My wife knows how much I despise that!

  I believe in God. I just don't believe in them or any other man. That is scriptural by the way defd.

  When I use it here, imagine me rolling my eyes so hard they are popping out the back of my head, and I my words are just dripping with as much sarcasm as I can possibly muster.

  I guess it is like how black people call eachother the n-word. It takes away from the power of the word. Turn the insult into a source of pride.

  Yeah it is a tough call. Like you said, it can't be a bluff. It is like Gary said, his marriage was already gone. You can't care what happens either way. I am no where near that point. It sounds like you are getting fed up.

  If I am still hanging out here and posting this stupid crap on the day of my youngest kids high school graduation, I think I am going to go hop on my bike like Gary did.

  Are we making it to easy on them. Must be nice to have somebody support you so you can go join a cult. I would like to just go off the deep end sometimes. I wonder what that feels like to know somone else will cover for you. But I just couldn't live with myself if I left my responsibilities to someone else.

  Perhaps that is the problem. My wife doesn't work either. Could it be that by making it easier for them, we're making it harder on ourselves?

  Well as you can imagine, making it harder could drive them deeper into the WT. It isn't an easy question. And it is not one you can just take back once you go down that road.
