  My opinion is just this: they are now faced with billions and billions in potential lawsuits from the Tort of Misrepresentation charges, in part, and know they could lose theire proverbial "as--es' over this. Plus as that opens a can of worms, cases regarding sexual molestation could possibly not be downplaye dor treated so lightly in court.

  I also think 9/11 scared the bejesus out of them. It wouldn't be good to have this organization that spends all it's time preaching the coming destruction of all these evil churches only to be blown to hell themselves while all the other churches around the world are left standing.

  Might look to much like an angry God dealing properly with those who have so slandered His good name.

  I love your avatar. I put it right up there with MJ in terms of creativity, irony, and satirical quality. It is funny on just so many levels. You have the whole deal of relating a real estate company to the wt. You have the remnant above the great crowd. And all of it just is such a clever play on the re/max logo and trademark.

  well my wife totally got on my nerves last night.

  i was trying to work out some compromises on the holidays with her.

  i spent a ton of time thinking about it, studying about it, and writing things down.

  These are not unrelated events.

  One of the great challenges for us in dealing with the self-deluded, is understanding that their obnoxious behavior is not rooted in any kind of confidence in their convictions. It is precisely a reaction the their life of quiet desperation, and nagging doubts. Maybe that realization can offer us some comfort when we deal with their maddening behavior.

  JW's are some of the biggest bluffers you will ever meet. They act like they have a royal flush, they don't even have a lousy pair of twos.

  CYP: your method IS spot-on; that is brilliant.

  If it is brilliant it is because it is so darn obvious, and so darn simple.

  On the other hand, it is so difficult to keep it to such a narrow focus. It is just so natural for a jw, when someone confronts them with their jerky behavior, to hide behind their faith... and make it all about their faith.

  That is all their faith is for them. A big shield to hide from the big, bad world.

  Thanks for the verse. I know a real busy body that needs to read that one.

  What Went Thru Your Mind While Sitting at The Meetings?

  i used to listen but not really.

  i'd look at the platform/speaker stand, look like i was paying attention, get antsy, and find another elder to "discuss" something ith.

  i just got to the meeting----right before it was to start and if the talkative po decided that his last part was going to go overtime, i'd put on my coat and look at the big clock on my way out in front of everyone and leave for the local bar.

  Actually Min, this is the one that made me think to suggest it...

  When I was at the hieght of my JW-ness, it was: "what a good point, I'm not doing enough for Jehovah, I sure have to work on this and do better, I'm never doing enough, have to do more, I'm not a good enough Christian and if I don't shape up I'm going to be pecked on by birds after armegeddon."

  Towards the end of my career as a JW, it was more like, "what am I doing here, I don't belong here anymore, something's not right, get me the hell out of the place, besides the gold and blue color scheme needs a major redux."

  I love parity humor...
