For example, are there any cases where the a Jew was to choose death before running contrary to the Mosaic law?

Strange martyrdom: What are the cases where the Bible requires martyrdom?
by Check_Your_Premises inthe whole blood issue has been a topic of conversation with my jw loved ones.. one thing they always fall back to is "this life doesn't matter compared to our eternal salvation".
see, they think that by disobeying the bible on the issue of blood, risks their eternal life.
if they are forced to concede that the bible doesn't exactly say that, then they fall back to the need to choose martyrdom before disobeying the organization.

"Shouldn't a Christian be required to die for their faith?" they say.
Scripturally, when is a Christian expected to die (or allow those in their charge to die) in order to uphold their faith?
What examples does the Bible provide?
How do we square those with Jesus' words in Matthew 12, "I want mercy not sacrifice"?

So What Exactly is an Unbaptized Publisher
by MrsBee in.
a lady i know was telling me that she studied for 10 years and was considered an upbaptized publisher before being baptized.. is that possible, i didnt think and organization such as the jw's would let you just soak up all their "knowledge" without becoming one of the crew... :)
although havent been on here in a while since i had my son, i came on here asking for advice because i was having trouble dealing with the fact my husband was thinking about going back to the dubs, and he still hasnt gone back..yayayayayay... and im soooo happy, he still has most of their beliefs , but thats okay, they arent 100% bad, they helped him change his life..but i dont bother him cuz i dont want him runnin back!!!

You didnt scare me away.. LOL.. Believe me I appreciated the insight!!!
Thanks for clearing my conscience.
I can be kind of obnoxious sometimes. The things I posted to you, in hindsight, looked like I was badgering and upsetting a very pregnant (and dare I say hormonal?) woman. I was just sick when you stopped responding to that thread. All I could think was that because of my obnoxious behaviour, your poor boy would be knocking on doors the rest of his days.
So then I realized that alot of the reason I post here is out of my own personal anger toward the wt. But when folks here need help, I have to get over myself and focus on the people here looking for answers. It was a real eye opening experience for me!
So now you tell me I didn't scare you off at all. I guess that means I got the benefit of the experience without the cost.
Cool!
There are a lot of ubm's here MrsBee. We have been through alot, we have learned alot, and we are here to assist you in any way we can.
Take care sis.

WTS web article: Is the Work of Jehovah's Witnesses Propagandistic?
by M.J. insee: http://www.watchtower.org/library/g/2000/6/22/diagram_01.htm.
notice how in this article they redirect their own question!
of course their organization doesn't spread propaganda for jews, communists, or american imperialists!

MJ,
Every once in awhile I read something they put out that is SO ironic, that I can't help but wonder if there isn't a mole inside the writing department.
This would be a classic example!

No Sex Tonight
I never quite figured out why the sexual urge of men and women differ so much. And I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing.
I have never figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart.
FOR EXAMPLE: One evening last week, my wife and I were getting into bed.
Well, the passion starts to heat up, up and up, and she eventually says "I don't feel like it, I just want you to hold me."I said "WHAT??!! What was that?!" So she says the words that every husband on the planet dreads to hear...
"You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man." She responded to my puzzled look by saying, "Can't you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?"
Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep.
The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big unnamed department store. I walked around with her while she tried on several different very expensive outfits. She couldn't decide which one to take so I told her we'd just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said lets get a pair for each outfit. We went onto the jewelry department where she picked out a pair of diamond earrings . Let me tell you... she was so excited. She must have thought I was one wave short of a shipwreck. I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis. I think I threw her for a loop when I said, "That's fine, honey."
She was almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement.
Smiling with excited anticipation she finally said, "I think this is all dear, let's go to the cashier."
I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, "No honey, I don't feel like it."
Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled "WHAT?"
I then said "Honey, I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman." And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me, I added, "Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy you?"
Apparently I'm not having sex tonight either.

Why do women make up the majority?
by daniel-p ini want to pose what is to me an interesting question: .
why is there a preponderance of women in religion?
i think we all agree that females do make up the majority of pretty much every religion, including jw's, but why?

I did a quick poll at the meeting last week.
25 men
37 women
(not including children)
I counted 7 women with children and no husband there.

UBMs - why do we love JWs??
by Super_Becka ini think there's been a thread on this before, but i figured i'd ask again.. for all of the ubms out there, why is it that we love witnesses??
what is it about them that we find so attractive??
why are we putting ourselves through this mess when we know full-well that there are lots of non-jws out there who would be better for us??.
