Not all women act this way, maybe just the ones YOU have run up against.

That is why I said "I have found". I thought I already cleared this one up. The group that "I have found" is clearly a subset of the entire group.

And frankly, I have to question whether you are being objective on the matter.

Are you telling me, that never in your life, have you tried to see if a guy would belly crawl for you? You may not want to admit it. That is fine. Maybe you haven't. I have never observed you in action. That is why I said, "I have found".

But this is something I have seen so often, and in so many women over the years, that I can't help but imagine that it is an inate tendency. I am including women I have not dated in the sample set, so it isn't just me and my bad choice in women at work here. Maybe there is something in the water where I live? Maybe I am just a jaded, bitter a-hole? (keep in mind, this whole conversation is taking place with my tongue firmly implanted in my cheek so I doubt that is it either) These are all reasonable explanations.

But if I apply Occam's Razor, I think the simplest explanation is the one I gave.

One observation:

Boy, I sure didn't catch any grief when all that was up was my dismal description of the male gender. I make a couple asides about the tendencies I have observed among you lovely ladies, and now I have a whole castration squad after me!

uhmp, maybe the women you've run up against.

Oh boy. I have a feeling I have stepped in it. It is the same feeling I get when I don't answer the "Does this outfit look ok" question convincingly enough.

Let me clarify what "this" is that I have observed that all women do.

I have found that all women will at some point, in some way, attempt to see if the loyalty her man has for her will go so far that he will sacrifice his dignity. In a way she is hoping he will, because that will mean she is pretty. On the other hand, if he does sacrifice his dignity for her, that might be an alarming development for her. She might be with a candy-ass who won't be able to protect her. Often when this happens, she loses respect for the guy, and he loses her.

Again, as I stated above, these are not necessarily thoughts that occur on a conscious level. Rather they are lower, animal like instincts that all of us have within us. Just because we have these instincts within us does not mean we all act on them. That is why it isn't fair to make blanket statements. I think it is fair to say we all have these instincts. It is not fair to say that we all act on them.

It is our humanity that allows us to rise above those base instincts.

Here we have a classic example of a guy trying to impress the laides by being chivalrous and argumentative with me in my less then ideal description of the female of the species.

Ok. Penalty flag accepted. Blanket statements are always inadequate. Let me correct myself.

Now you can't get me on the second qoute. In that one I offered the necessary caveats of "it is often true".

Ok, so your sweety is the exception. I believe you. But you have to admit that you have at least observed this phenomenon (the better you treat 'em the worse they treat you) more than once in your life, and perhaps even enough to agree that it is a common occurrence?

Nah, then you won't seem as chivalrous.

CYP, just curious; before you had daughters, did you care that the focus of a woman's sexuality wasn't the same as yours?

Before I had daughters I was in the full grips of my primal urges. So really all I cared about was understanding the focus of a woman's sexuality to the extent that it served my purposes of getting in their pants.

Don't get me wrong. I have been pretty rough on the fellas in by above analysis. When I explain this all to my son, he will have some different set of situations brought to his attention.

Women can play it pretty cruel also. I felt the brunt of the woman's sexual focus a couple times myself before I wised up. Let me put it this way. Just because a woman is demanding and pleading for you to make some sort of commitment to her, does not mean she has any interest in making a commitment to you.

Women collect trophies too!

When a guy scores that means he got laid. When a women scores that means she has some guy p-whipped.

I hate to say it, but it is often true (particularly with the younger ones) that the better you treat a woman the worse she treats you, and vice versa. Treating women like crap isn't my deal. So for me the way to go was to find a woman who damn well found out the hard way that a guy who treats her decent is what she wants. Even still, she pushes it sometimes, and I have to let her know that I won't put up with any crap.

All women do this.

They just have to make sure you aren't a pussy. How are you going to protect her if you can't even stand up to her!!!

All is fair...

I just want to make sure all my children know the score.

No Clapping at Wild Statements at DC????!!!!

i just read a post that said the audience was not obediently clapping at the convention when the speakers made wild statements (presumably with the rising nazi voice).

did anyone else notice this.. will others look out for it at their dc and tell us?.

i'm not going.. bwaaaaahhhhhhh.

The first time I noticed the compulsory clapping was at a DC right after all the "jws are childmolester" stories came out.

The speaker said something to the effect of, "And unlike the Catholic Church we came out immediately and condemned this sort of behaviour!!!"

The applause was deafening for several minutes.

I just sat there thinking, "So let me get this right, you guys are bragging about stating publicly that child molestation is wrong?"

With the display of this kind of moral clarity and courage, they clearly must be God's Organization!!!

What did you do over the weekend?

i was bad!

we went to our cabin friday night till sunday.

i went through 3 cases of buttlight!

I went to see the fireworks for the first time in about 3 years.

The wife was working so I told the kids, "I am going, you can come if you want".

They all decided to come with me?!

My 2yr old daughter loved it!!! She screamed her head off for about 10 minutes. It got so people were watching her instead of the fireworks!

I figure the jw-cackle-fest lit up this morning to discuss my "opposer" behavior. I will take it as an opportunity to explain that "I am loyal only to God. Remember, a man can not serve two masters. I (unlike you) would never put my faith in any man made institution (or governing body), because anything made by man is inevitably flawed. So my going to the fireworks was in no way an act of worship or a showing of faith in these United States (unlike you who were baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, and the governing body). I just the 2yr old would like to see them."

She, of course, will make no connection between my statement about the dangers of putting faith in a man made institution and her own blasphemous worship of the organization.

i have always found the use of the name jehovah by the jw's to be wholly unremarkeable.

i had heard that name many times growing up, from many different denominational backgrounds.

when i read pre-russell bible commentaries i find the name used consistently and often.

Wife is pretty much done!

i haven't been here much for the last 6 months or so because... (drum roll please) my wife has pretty much called it quits!

she's not been to a meeting now in over a year!

(well she went to visit a gung-ho friend for the weekend and went to one sunday) no service in at least twice that long!

Can you tell me about this "inspection"

it seems that at the 2005 district convention, that the idea that jesus had come in 1919 and had chosen the wts, was mentioned three times.. i have yet to see where this was proven other than the wts "saying" that it happened.. can anyone show the proof concerning this monumental event?.

They may still say it, but methinks it isn't going to be seen in print a lot anymore.

I got my hands on the new pub, "What Does the Bible Really Teach". Rumor has it that this book will replace the Knowledge book.

From my brief scan, 1919 is noticeably absent. Also I saw no mention of "The Faithful and Discreet Slave" doctrine.
