I think what you might be describing is the point where your brain can not process any more information. When you meditate on life questions and really try to make sense of things your brain can not come up with an answer. Your brain is trying to use everything it has, even emotions. When your brain uses logic and emotion that's what I think people try to describe as "spiritual".

That's my theory.

i went to a sunday meeting recently (for family reasons).

it was the first meeting i'd attended in a few years.

i couldn't help but notice how utterly soulless it was.

humans enjoy the forests, depend on them, in fact.

but they keep killing off the equivalent of the players: the individual species of plants and animals, whose complex interplay is what keeps the forest alive.

i am sitting here in a study lounge.

when i got here around 15 minutes ago the only ones here were two young ladies and a young man, sitting around a table with their eyes closed.

the young man was talking.

You know, maybe because I was embarrassed, when I was a JW I didn't take the closing the eyes and bowing my head too seriously. I just prayed just like I was daydreaming. The irony! I WAS daydreaming! lol
