  What's going on?

  i finally found the words to describe what's happening with the jws all around me.

  it's the difference between faith, and superstitious attachment.

  Bibleexaminer, Hi guy, glad to read whenever you post. All the little do(s) and don'ts that people have, i.e. no say bless you when someone sneezes. you can't wish someone a happy birthday, etc. remind me of the shades of oriental superstitions I've heard in some eighteen years of running around the orient. I for one would love to read you post on the Pentecost or anyone else's for that matter. I feel for you in that you have to be involved or at least appear to, I was that way also especially at the book study, in never failed to amaze me no pun intended, that some were actually thinking the drivel put forth by the books was actually factual, no thinking just answer what they want you too. and when you asked how could this be, those scriptures were not talking about such and such and they would just look at you with brain dead eyes and go right on giving lip service to their god the governing body and his son stupidity.   Jehovah Witnesses & Gambling

  in the land of the indian, no pun intended, their are jdubs who think it okay to support the local casino whether via the restaurant or the slots or even bingo.

  the spin i got from some of them on it, was that they were going out to have a good time and spending $20 to $40 on the slots that they were going to spend any way was not in and of itself gambling.

  the preponderance of jdubs using the casino restaurants is spun out in the same way, just an evening out.

  (Soon to be) an Extinct Species?

  jws all over the world will not be happy bunnies to hear that the number is falling, especially is countries like germany, japan and canada.

  currently standing at just over 6 million, we could be down to 5m by the end of next year!!.

  any guesses as to how long before we are rid of these pseudo-religous people and they are made extinct, like the dinosaurs?

  Yeah, though we shall walk through the valley of death (the local kingdom hall) Psalms 23 will take on a whole new meaning. Like the dinosaurs the Jehovah Witnesses too my pass into obscurity. Numbers being down from 1st world countries, the sheer magnitude of expenses that the society is going to endure due to third world increases may be debilitating. but those greedy sots will probably let the third world jdubs sink who knows. LIke the pet rock I for one look forward to the society passing into history from bull manure to dust so to speak. Buff

  i got a message from a friend who attended the jdub district convention in san diego, ca (may 18-21).

  whopee, he said it was upbuilding and fun, can tell he is a politican.

  he said there was the release of volume two of the isaiah prophecy, a new tract "do you have an immortal soul', and golly gee a new brochure "a satisfying life, how to attain it., bro seldik from bethel along with seven bethelites, my my they must have been blessed, now the have to pay for those supposed visitors' trips plane rides etc.

  if any of you are/were jws, then you know of the "donation arrangement", the semantical approach of the wts to soliciting donations/funds.

  i remember when this was initiated.

  donation arrangement? When coming into the borg I heard those rumors of them not being like Christendom, they wouldn't ask for money, I thought it funncy when at the Theo school they accounts were spoken of monthly and it always seemed that the congregation needed to donate more $Money$ so that accounts could be met. I also found it strange when the congregation was asked to pass a resolution to ldonate money to a hall project down the road even though being unable to meet monetary needs of the congregation. It seemed to me that, all they (the borg) wanted was to get more donations. my two bits. buff

  Seems to me that the Society calls persecution anything that doesn't agree with their drivel. If those of other religions had stood out in front of a Kingdom Hall and handed out pamphlets derogatory to the Witnesses, they would call that persecution. However, if witnesses as they did in earlier times 20s 30s 40 etc. did that its called a ministry, be out in field service, blah blah blah. I however believe in context with the June wt that any who are happy to be out of the borg have God's blessing, I know I'm happy to have left those sniveling prozac annointed nerds. Buff

  Jdubs have lots of freedoms. The freedom to listen to blah blah blah at the Theo Ministry quackary. To sleep with eyes opened at the Public talk, to participate in the lack of study for the watchtower study, To go out and annoy our neighbors on thier days off, yes we have lots of religious freedom due to the Jehovah Witnesses. We have the freedom to believe anything they tell us, we have the freedom to keep our mouths shut when disagreeing with their nonsense, We have the freedom to bring a barf bag to all meetings, and finally we have the freedom to believe that our paying rapt attention to any and all sayings from the geriatric clinic known as the gibbering body. My my we must thank them for all of our freedoms.

  Things to do when they come knocking

  i encourage people not to either verbally or physically harass jws when they come knocking on the door.. saying this, i recognize that it is ever so tempting to try the following:.

  1) answering the door wearing a t-shirt with a logo such as "satan rules", "member of the evil slave class", and "1914, 1918, 1925, 1975, what's next?".

  2) answering the door wearing only underwear (or less).. 3) dropping a name of some governing body member and suggesting that you got to know him when he and you were in jail together, and then ask if they know if he's stopped some particular filthy habit.. 4) answering the door while brandishing a pitchfork.. 5) say that you're so glad they came and that it's good for people to have an open mind about their religion and to be willing to change; once you get them excited with this, show them a copy of the wtbts failed prophecy list (backed by quotes from their own literature) and ask if they are open minded as well.. 6) as most jws have never looked at a copy of _studies in the scriptures_, tell them that you've gotten many of your religious beliefs by pyramidology; then show them a copy of _sits_ and point to the wtbts copyright notice.. i have #5 and #6 ready for the next visit.

  Well not answering the door comes to mind. But realistically what you should do is tell them that yes you do have an interest in the bible and that you wonder if they can help you?? Show them Luke 21:8 and relate that to the Catholic Church and the Pope as an example I'm sure they will agree with you, then spring it on them, If it works for the Pope it should become glaringly clear to them that it also applies to the Popeadopes (governing Body, wtbts, borg, etc.) Its probably wishful thinking but leave it at that and hopefully a seed will work its way through the cement and find some manure and good dirt in there to grow in.   Dubs and Horsies

  i've gotten the impression that gambling is not looked upon kindly by the 'tower.

  is it officially condemned, i.e.

  is it a disfellowshippable offence?.

  Gambling and Jdubs, is it a disfellowshipping offense? Well of course it is unless of course your a pioneer, ms, elder, or well to day or extremely well liked. If you have ever seen witnesses at Las Vegas, when they think no one is looking at them they you will see a lot of witnesses gambling. Several towns, cities have Casinos in or near them, a lot more than jdub eating goes on there too. I can't believe that its a disfellowshipping offense to gamble at them, but not a disfellowshipping offense to eat there and support them through that means. You know of any supposed Jdub (indian witnesses) who get profits from the tribe do to gambling casinos, well of course they do but gee thats not gambling huh??? Buff
