I just simply would want to be a follower of Christ, not obligated to any religion but just dedicated to doing of God's will.

How many religions have ONLY YHWH as God ?
by JH inlets say a ex-jw wants to find another religion, but still believes that only yhwh is god and only he should be adored, which religions can he turn to ?.
most, if not all, so called christian religions pray to jesus and adore him, or put jesus on the same level as jehovah..

Jesus didn't tell his followers to seek out an organization, but that they would know who his followers are by the love they have. It doesn't say you will know who his followers are due to the organization they belong to and the conditional love that they have. The WTBTS needs to wake up but they want. They live in their own little dream world.

The International DC's are probably only international because they invite people from another country, big deal, I think there was one in San Diego not too long ago. If so isn't was much. They all have the same program don't they? I don't believe a different one is drawn up for just those particualr Dc's. It's just the same ole same ole only with people from different parts of the country there.

The Depths They Will Sink To.....
by sweet pea inhaving almost gotten over my jw ex-best friend telling me she could no longer be my friend, handing me back my spare keys, sending a note and present to my kids with not even a 'dear sam', shunning me in the park, etc, etc she now sacks her immigrant cleaner (who became her cleaner due to my recommendation a year ago) by text message.
cleaner phones her to check out what's going on and she tells her you can no longer clean for us as you work for sam and my husband wants us to have no connection whatever - you may tell her things about us and we don't want that.
charming, another kick in the stomach for me and a great witness to the cleaner (who ironically we found out a few months ago has a father who is a witness!).

Have elders lost power they once had over the flock?
by Fisherman inthe wts still gives the elders the same authority over the cong as before but is the cong controlled as much by the elders?.

IMO, I don't think so but it isn't from lack of trying on the part of the elders. People will spout about how we should be listenting to those idiots but it isn't as radical as it seemed to be in the past. I believe more and more people are trying to use their God given brains to actually think for themselves every once in aswhile. Rare but it does happen.

I have always wondered about all the new hall builds but not an extensive increase in the overall population of jdubs to allow for all the builds. Seems to my reckoning in the last few years most of the baptismal candidates have beeen judub kids (probably forced into it). They need another SDA hall in Escondido like they need a hole in their heads. oh wait a minute they do need another hole in their heads.

Only a very small minisule part., i didn't have a happy childhood growing up and my parents had absolutely no respect for us, We were abused verbally, physically and emotionally, and her passing if it affected me, it was only a wee wee bit. In fact my spouse was shocked at my response when she told me, my sister had called and told her. I just looked at her and said okay thanks for the info. I thought about her passing away for a few minutes then went on with my life. I didn't even go to the funeral or send flowers or anything else. My children we definitely shocked at Grandma's passing, and even more so with my response or lack of to it.
