I think this is a great letter, I thank the collective brains behind it!
hi everyone,.
a letter has been prepared by anonymous brothers to be sent to bodies of elders around the world.. of course this is a massive undertaking and we are asking for assistance from active and inactive ones around the world who share the sentiments of the letters contents.. your participation in this action indicates your sincere desire to see change within the organization that has become authoritarian in recent years.. we ask that the letter be addressed to "the body of elders" in each respective congregation.. please do not add any further information or commentary.. we are also relying on non-english speaking brothers to translate and distribute this letter.. it will not matter if more than one letter is received by each congregation.

My all time favorite Weird Al song- "It's all about the Pentiums". Probably because I identify a little too much with it.

the right brain vs left brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or counter-clockwise?.
http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,22535838-5012895,00.html.
at first i saw her turn clockwise, then counter clockwise.......
Wow, that's pretty nifty. I couldn't for the life of me see her going any direction but clockwise. But then I took the advise to look at the feet and had to concentrate on switching which side of the body I percieved them to be on and was able to switch back and forth. Weird!
checked my other threads and noticed i had not covered this in reference to our kids, thought it was important.
so, how are all you parents doing ?
do any of you have children, in their early 20's who are pursuing their education, and are they doing well ?
This is a subject very near and dear to my heart. College is one of the biggest things I feel like I missed out on in my youth. I had almost straight A's all through high school and had every opportunity to win scholarships, and even had some offered as early as 5th grade, but my father would have heard of no such thing. I was going to be a missionary anyways, I was told, so why even waste time on that?
Anyways, we talk about college almost constantly. All three of our kiddos have had college funds set up for three years now. I want them to have the assurance that they can persue whatever their dreams are. I'm sure by the time they're ready to leave for college (the oldest in in 4th grade) tuition will be astronomical, and we'll still look into scholarships, but at least that money's there to give them a boost up and a solid start.
We're fortunate though, in that by being residents in our state we recieve checks every year on profits from oil revenue. (Permanent Fund Dividend) Half of these checks go straight into their college funds every year.
if jws really cared about making disciples they would never use outdated ways to get their "lifesaving message" across.
knocking on doors, knowing that most people aren't at home, is simply a waste of time.
driving around from one part of town to the other side in order to stretch your time, while doing return visits is simply a way to not reach people as quickly as possible.
I know when I was still in, the less people I had to talk to, the better. And I know most of the people around me secretly felt the same way. It was more about having some time to fill in on the slips to show you were a good little Dub.
And more recently, I accepted a tract from a family that made it's way out to where I live. I was hoping to start a "discussion" with them in future return visits, but, alas... I haven't heard from them since. Maybe they have secret ApostaRadar?
