time, the end is no longer urgent.

I hated the field service, with a passion. however after having
experienced root canal and its torture, I must say that I would
take FS as the lesser of two evils. But it's close.
I regular pioneered for 2 years and was quite good at it, but the
brothers usually would see me a young man, and pioneer and pick me
as the odd one out in uneven groups, ie, I had to work on my own
a lot. If only they knew the sheer terror it put me through until
the first few doors were over.
My lovely wife used to take the first doors for me because although
she didnt like it, she didnt want me to suffer the agony.
I havent gone on FS for over 4 years and to be honest, if I never
do it again, it will be too soon.
BTW I tried selling, but it gives me the same terror.

Which can be seen as being baptized according to Matt 28:19,20 that is

repented of your sins and dedicated yourself to Jehovah to do
his will?
2. Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify
you as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in association with
God's spirit-directed organization?
In this I see only the Father, the Son and the WTBTS.
This seems quite unscriptural and also immoral. That is, taking a
symbol of dedication directed to Jehovah and taking part of it for
ones self ie the WTBTS.
At the very least, it is akin to Moses and the rock crag. But in
actuality, since it is not a thing done on the spur of the moment
during an angering time, but is planned and written down for years,
then it becomes blasphemy.

hi everyone.. i have just got back to england after a four week sd course at brooklyn.
during the course we got a look at the manuscript of the new unnamed ks01 elders manual, this time instead of just 3 chapters covering jc's there will be 7 covering everything you can think of and more.
the book will be released to all serving travelling overseers and service deck personnel in aug 01 and all elders in dec01 at the kms .. as soon as i receive mine in aug i will download any relevant points.

my wife has just left for the memorial.. just before she went she asked me to come...this was the second year in a row that i declined.
i hated seeing her so sad, i almost agreed to go just to cheer her up but that would betray her in a very real sense.
to go to the memorial would be an admission in her eyes (and other jws) that i still believe deep down that it is the truth.

Interesting that you mention the emblems that way. That was my thought initially, but my wife was dead against partaking, so we assigned her to research it in the bible.
There is nothing anywhere that indicates not taking the emblems except for those not worthy. The point that clinched it for my wife though was Judas Iscariot. Although it is generally accepted that he left the room before the bread and wine symbols were passed around, a run through of the gospels leaves it up in the air. And as my wife said, if it was important, it would have been made clear. Therefore, everyone partakes.

Actually the steps were taken gradually over time, but the crunch decision needed to be arived at (was it the truth or not). I have had a wonderful life and I have a perfect wife and have learned to study hard and think deep.
Even the bad times have helped me to become the person that I am and over the last while I began to believe that I'm a pretty good example of a nice human being. (not some lowlife wretch who deserves only a horrible death ;-)) BTW I am Australian.

Well, after 30 years, We didnt go.
Actually, two years ago we didnt go either, but that was because we forgot. This time, it was a well thought out decision between my wife, myself and my mother.
My inlaws called us up to "remind" us, but they live a long way away and we simply said we wouldnt be going.
Instead, we celebrated our own memorial, and after doing 3 days of serious bible research, we concluded that we would partake. We had explained several days earlier to my 7 year old that we would no longer be going to any meetings and that we no longer thought that it was "The Truth" even though we had been inactive for 4 years.
This last month has been quite strenuous mentally, and we did a significant amount of study to arrive at the conclusion that we did.
We had read no "external" books, and only minimally on the net, but we got watchtower literature, bibles and lexicons and arrived at the conclusion that they are simply a Pharisaical group that "traverses sea and dry land to make a proselyte" and that any further association even mentally with them would retard us.
This is my first post on the net.
If I did this post wrong, please let me know the "right way"
