My wife and I once had a conversation in our sleep.
She was having a nightmare and woke herself screaming "NO! NO!! NO!!!"
and heard me ask in my sleep: "Why not?"
i've been given permission by my wife to relate this - i think we need a fluff thread around here !
first of all - i don't know what it is that i have done to women in my life - but a few of them have tended to talk in their sleep !
my current wife, mrs. flipper talked in her sleep after the first week we started sleeping together !

i thought long and hard before making this thread, that many will not agree with it but i think there needs to be balance and people to realise there are alternate viewpoints out there on many of these subjects, the ones that are most spoke about on this forum.
i was recently sent a full message containing mary's book and these links give the rebuttal to many of her points.
those that are still open-minded enough feel free to look over them even if in the end you still don't agree at least you have heard both the defence as well as the attack as they are on the internet.
I thought this was satire.
I wish it were satire...

"Scholar" asks:
What Gospel do you preach if you have one, Do you? If you are a Christian then how are you obeying Jesus' command at Mattjew 28:19, 20?
The Gospel of our Lord Christ Jesus promises Believers forgiveness of sin, justification in God's sight, reconciliation with our heavenly Father, and adoption as His sons (bzw. "children"). Please do read the book of Romans. It is this Scriptural Gospel I share with those I meet.

"Scholar" writes:
If the Witnesses are not the True Religion then where is it to found today? They have no coherent doctrine, no ministry, no brotherhood in short they have NOTHING to offer except ridicule and vile hatred of Truth, Justice and Christiian Freedom.
I HEARTILY AGREE. The Witnesses have NO coherent doctrine. Their "ministry" is condemned as a false Gospel (Gal. 1:8,9). The "brotherhood" is a fiction (John 13:34,35). The Watch Tower Society does indeed ridicule and hate Truth, Justice and Christian Freedom.

"DEFENSE" is spelled "DEFENCE" in Great Britain...

Reniaa stated:
hmmm it kinda depends how you define prophet, they have never actually given a date for armegeddon
Actually, they have:
the 'battle of the great day of God Almighty', which will end in AD 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth's present rulership, is already commenced." The Time Is At Hand, 1911 ed., p. 101.
End in 1914 (?) Already commenced (?)
While it was an agreeable surprise to us (in view of the contrary sensational accounts so often published) to find the situation in Europe as we here describe it--in harmony with what the Scriptures had led us to expect--yet so great is our confidence in the Word of God and in the light of present truth shining upon it, that we could not have doubted its testimony whatever had been the appearances. The date of the close of that "battle" is definitely marked in Scripture as October, 1914. It is already in progress, its beginning dating from October, 1874. Thus far it has been chiefly a battle of words and a time of organizing forces --capital, labor, armies and secret societies.

.beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with god, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.. (deuteronomy 18:22) 22 when the prophet speaks in the name of jehovah and the word does not occur or come true, that is the word that jehovah did not speak.
with presumptuousness the prophet spoke it.
Never did they say, ‘These are the words of Jehovah.’—February 15, 1981, page 19.
Actually, they did:
"Jehovah's prophetic word through Jesus Christ is: 'This generation [of 1914] will by no means pass away until all things occur.' (Luke 21:32) And Jehovah, who is the source of inspired an unfailing prophecy, will bring about the fulfillment."

yours for the taking.. it took some craptastic elders treating me like dirt and reading through coc to make my exit.
i no longer need or want these two books around, so am making them available to someone who would like them.
coc is fourth edition.
Why not donate them to the local Library?
Those books would probably do more good there than with any of us.
Just a thought...
i am wondering if an elder's wife cheated on him, is it possible that he can remain as an elder?
What the deuce!!! Sometimes a cheating Elder will stay on as a "spirit-appointed adulterer"...
